Celtic will have two days extra preparation time for the League Cup Final on December 15.
On December 10 Brendan Rodgers side will be in Champions League action away to Dinamo Zagreb TWO DAYS before Phil Clement’s squad host Spurs in the Europa League.
Travelling to and from Zagreb will be a factor but most managers would jump at the chance of two extra days to prepare for a cup final.
Celtic’s match in the Croatian capital kicks off at 5.45pm (Glasgow time) which should finish around 7.45pm allowing for a quick getaway.
All being well the Celtic squad should be able to have a recovery day at Lennoxtown on the Wednesday then pick up on preparations for Hampden on the day that Clement is preparing his side for what looks like a demanding night at home to Ange Postecoglou and Spurs.
Rodgers will look to start both matches with his strongest XI but with depth and quality of the bench he should be able to manage the fitness of his squad over two critical matches.
The weekend before the cup final Celtic host Hibs on the Saturday with Clement’s side away to Ross County the following day, December 8.
Celtic were due to play at Dens Park on Cup Final weekend, that fixture will now be rescheduled, possibly in the midweek after the cup final which is clear.

Tae even ask us tae play that DROSS is an EMBARRASSMENT! Play like y/day & it’ll be DOUBLE FIGURES, they are ABSOLUTE UTTER SHITE LOL!!
Bring it on
Sevco should have been playing Aberdeen on the weekend of the League Cup final. This will allow them to kick that particular can further down the road.
Don’t be surprised to see those dates get changed to benefit sevco.
They will probably appeal to UEFA to move the Tottenham game to the Wednesday at least, but it’s potentially a big draw on TV so I can’t see UEFA or the TV companies wearing that and having it compete with the Champions League games, so I think it’ll remain thursday/Sunday for them.
Which at least gives them an oven-ready excuse if we look like emulating the 1957 score……
If it goes the way we are anticipating that will be one hell of a party.
