After making his Celtic debut in a Glasgow Derby, Arne Engels faces another next month as he looks to win his first medal in Scottish football.

Signed on the evening on August 30,oin the afternoon of September 1 he came off the bench to enjoy 20 minutes as Celtic crushed their city rivals 3-0 to take a five point lead in the SPFL.

That match won’t count for much on December 15 when the two city clubs meet at Hampden looking to lift the first trophy of the season.

Engels has had some ups and downs in his brief Celtic career, with an £11m price tag more is expected of the midfielder than most 22-year-olds switching country with the season already underway.

There are plenty of big matches before Celtic return to Hampden including Champions League ties at home to RB Leipzig, Club Brugge and away to Dinamo Zagreb five days before the Cup Final.

Engels is also likely to be on international duty this month but it is clear that a Glasgow Derby with the bonus of a trophy is already on his mind.
