After a stodgy first half at Tynecastle Celtic turned on the style to beat Hearts 4-1 to move three points clear of Aberdeen at the top of the SPFL Premiership.
Twice last season Celtic lost out to the Edinburgh side but it seems that normal service has been resumed with Saturday the third successive win for Brendan Rodgers’ side over the men in maroon.
During the first half Hearts harried and pressed Celtic deep into their own half, they were never going to maintain that level of effort with Celtic making the breakthrough in the 55th minute.
A rushed clearance crashed off Callum McGregor, fell invitingly to Kyogo Furuhashi whose first shot was parried by Craig Gordon who couldn’t prevent the rebound finding the net.
When Nicolas Kuhn added to his incredible showreel for the season the home fans started to head for the exits, it was game over with damage limitation the order of the day.
Adam Idah has been in the wars away to Motherwell and Kilmarnock but was sharp and alert to score Celtic’s third from a neat assist by James Forrest.
The veteran winger was then scythed down in stoppage time, Idah stepped up to score Celtic’s fourth from the penalty spot as the visitors claimed full points and top spot by three clear points.
