Marco Tilio won’t play again this year due to a torn hamstring tendon.
The winger is on his second loan to Melbourne City from Celtic but has been constantly hampered by injuries.
According to Soccerway Tilio has managed just 220 minutes this season across six matches on top of the 212 he managed last season over four games.
It looks like there are recurring issues with his Celtic career consisting of 27 minutes from two substitute appearances last season before he returned to Melbourne City on loan.
Discussing the injury picked up earlier this week against Western United, Aleagues.com reports:
The news is slightly better for Celtic loanee Tilio who is now likely to miss up to eight weeks of football after suffering a partial tear to his left hamstring tendon.
Even with a Celtic contract running until May 2028 it is hard to see Tilio making an impact or even returning to Celtic.
The recruitment of summer 2023 appears to have been virtually written off with only Luis Palma and Yang Hyun-jun getting occasional minutes since the summer 2024 transfer window closed,
It looks like getting fit enough to play regularly again is the medium term target, finding a way back to Celtic looks to be a long shot for the 23-year-old.
