Turkish legend Sergen Yalc?n has delivered a blunt criticism of John Lundstram claiming that he offers absolutely nothing to Trabzonspor.
For three seasons the Scary Scouser was saluted and praised across Scottish football for contributing nothing in particular as Celtic picked up three more SPFL titles.
Six SPFL goals from 85 appearances plus 15 off the bench summed up his contribution but after a couple of adequate performances in the Europa League the bears were singing that he was The Best Midfielder of Earth.
The media messengers were quick to pick up on that bizarre title as Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Micky Beale came and went through the manager’s office.
For no obvious reason Trabzonspor offered Lundstram a three year deal with Borna Barisic getting a two year contract, it’s fair to say the midfielder has carried his Scottish form over to Turkey.

Trabzonspor has a player John Lundstram. He is a flat midfielder who offers absolutely nothing.
He’s not alone because they have many players like that. He does not provide any contribution to the team, he does not make any difference to the team at all.
He is not good enough for Trabzonspor. This is a team who were supposed to be going for the title. They are full of players who are not good enough to do that.

It looks likely that Lundstram will be sent on loan to an English Championship in January as Trabzonspor try to cut their losses. Big Lunny’s last two appearances for Clement’s side were in defeats to Celtic.
With his failure following on from Ryan Kent’s move to Galatasaray in July 2023 it is unlikely that Turkish clubs will be offering any more contracts to Ibrox flops.
During the summer Ryan Jack, Connor Goldson and Todd Cantwell all left the Ibrox payroll without making any impact at their new clubs.
Kemar Roofe is still on the lookout for a new deal despite positing many cryptic Instagram posts about his readiness to play again.
Even Steven Gerrard has backed out of offering any of his former Ibrox ‘stars’ a contract to move to Al Ettifaq in the Saudi League.
NOTE: Yalcin played for Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas as well as representing Turkey at five international tournaments.

14 points or more
If anyone researching Kemar Roofe as a potential signing,
will only get as far as his shameful, studs-in-the-face assault on the keeper
in that Euro game at ibrox.
A player the game can easily do without.
