According to OPTA there is a 20.7% chance of Celtic finishing their Champions League campaign with 14 points with the hoops projected to finish in 20th place in the 32 team table.
That tally would would require two more victories, bringing in additional 4.2m euros in direct prize money from UEFA and representing an outstanding return from the new look competition.
Finishing between 9th and 24th has been the target all along to secure a place in the Round of 16 Play Offs with the predicted points tally for that achievement edging up as the tournament has progressed.
Brugge brought to an end Celtic’s three match winning run at home in the competition but every point matters with Celtic currently on the same points total as giants such as Manchester City and Juventus.
With their Pot 1 and 2 opponents accounted for in theory Celtic should be finishing up with three ‘easier’ opponents.
Dinamo Zagreb away on December 10 is a fixture equally important to both clubs with just one point separating the two clubs after five matches.
YB Berne at home in January is the most likely fixture to yield a victory, the Swiss side are bottom of the table with no points and a goal difference of -15.
By the evening of January 29 all of the details will be sorted out with Celtic hoping that their campaign extends into February to make it at least 10 Champions League matches in the same season.

Absolutely desperate for us to lose last night , we didn’t , so there now running articles such as ‘ How other teams can qualify before Celtic ‘
Scottish media will not give Celticthe credit after dortman score they said we ain’t up to the compition we done qmwell against brugges as soon as we sorted out there way of playing and got equaliser we look the team that were trying to win brugge look tired with the wirk they put in in the first hour but we just the winner
FFS, you two above make the SMSM make, almost, sense. As much sense as Rodgers after that, as he covered up his calamitous tactics and incredibly used a great 2nd half “performance” to conclude a fukkin disaster didn’t happen. Sevco FFS? Lies!
Brugge were good for around opening 20 minutes, we scored a preposterous (a centre half doing a back-pass without looking and WITHIN the ‘sticks FFS?)
Before I even played senior football, I understood a back pass tae the goalie had ALWAYS to be produced OUTSIDE of the sticks. And we’ve a fukkin great player, an international, who does THAT?
Fukk this a still cannae get over throwing points away and Rodgers effectively saying it was all right. IT’S FUKKIN NOT!
