Alex Valle has summed up the spirit of Celtic’s Champions League campaign with a fighting till the end message on Instagram.

The on loan defender was a 59th minute substitute against Brugge alongside Paulo Bernardo, a minute later he had an assist in Daizan Maeda’s priceless equaliser.

Taking anything from a Champions League match when most players are below par is a priceless asset and keeps Celtic on course for a February Play Off for a place in the last 16.

Valle was one of the few successes on the night, with a punishing schedule coming up there is a string chance that he will be in the Starting XI to face Ross County on Saturday.

Wednesday’s fighting qualities were nothing new for this Celtic side who have lost the opening goal in three Champions League matches but bounced back with an equaliser every time.

What happened next away to Borussia Dortmund is best forgotten but the fightback against RB Leipzig will long be remembered as the night Celtic returned to the top level of European football.

Should Celtic continue to progress there is always the prospect of a rematch with their most regular Champions League opponents, Valle’s parent club Barcelona.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
