Celtic’s Champions League progress looks certain to give them an edge in next season’s competition- if they win the SPFL Premiership title.
After three seasons of direct entry into the Champions League the 24/25 SPFL title winners face two rounds of qualifiers next season based on Scotland’s co-efficient.
Within that stage the club coefficient then dictates where you are in the draw, Aberdeen would obviously be unseeded but this season’s results look like pushing Celtic into one of the a seeded place in the Third Round and also the Play Off round.
This season Dinamo Zagreb, Red Star Belgrade, YB Berne and Galatasaray were the four seeded teams in the Play Off stage with all bar Galatasaray making it into the group stage.
It is difficult at this moment to predict who will win the titles from the nations that don’t get automatic qualification but Galatasaray were seeded with a co-efficient of 31.5 with Celtic currently on 34 with potential to rise higher.

It is unlikely to be much of a consideration for Brendan Rodgers at this stage but if the hoops win the title avoiding the champions from nations like Croatia, Serbia and Switzerland would be welcomed.
Fixed and rigged competition for sure (even if it sometimes benefits Celtic)
Hated the way they rigged the wee groups for the ‘elite’ ? teams…
But it looks like this year’s league was an open draw – Apologies if that wasn’t the case !
If memory serves ..a few seasons ago each club in the Premiere League received £400 .000 thousand because of Celtic’s heroics and co efficiency standing in Europe ? The rag tabloids overlooked this massive windfall to other clubs , printing snippets of congratulations but through gritted lap tops keys…..a mountain made into a mole hill by the scoops in frustration and envy .
