After playing in five successive matches Nico Raskin is complaining that he was tired following the 1-1 draw against Olympiakos.
Phil Clement has made managing minutes a priority with some bizarre and puzzling decisions to rest and rotate players.
So far this season Raskin has started seven matches but it seems that the workload of starting five matches between October 24 and November 7 has taken too much out of the Chelsea linked midfielder.
After last night’s exertions, STV reports Raskin saying:
I am still a bit tired because I have not played a lot and now I have played five games in a row. I feel it.
Maybe I need to look at my warm-up, look at maybe making it harder so I get my second wind earlier but overall I am happy for the team, happy for Cyriel to score the goal. He is working so hard for the team.
After being out injured then overlooked by his manager it would be natural for Raskin to revel in getting a run in the side to prove his worth, so far this season Connor Barron has enjoyed the wonder boy tag.
When a 23-year-old is complaining about feeling tired and needing to work harder there are clearly conditioning issues for A Proper Football Manager to deal with.
Raskin has scored one goal since his dream move to Ibrox in January 2023, Connor Barron is still waiting for his first goal since his summer switch from Aberdeen.
Total unrest in the dressing room with the serial loser Tav being binned
.Apparently he is using his influence with other players to turn on Kojak now, with players threating to down tools if baldy stays in place any longer.
Rumours have it that they are willing to call it a day this weekend to lose the match so he will be sacked.
Radio shortbread last night all excited about a 1-1 draw against a nickel&dime team in the europa league.
The sevco klub all excited about picking up a few nickels&dime to pay off the loans.
He will be heading back to France during the International break for another Paris Pizza Party …just to recharge the batteries ,of course !
When I read “Chelsea-linked” I had to find out who had linked this useless gimp to Chelsea. Turns out it appears to have only been he himself who had referenced wanting to play for Chelsea and thought Sevco might be a useful stepping stone, and this was seconded by no less an expert in football than David Edgar, who suggested that Raskin’s stats in and out of possession were comparable to those of Jude Bellingham….
Firstly, if any player signing for Celtic openly referenced using the club as a stepping-stone to the EPL I think a great deal more would be made of it and used as a great big stick to beat him with and secondly…. I know Chelsea aren’t what they were in the Abramovic and Mourinho days but I still thought they generally only sign decent players, not overweight wannabes. My primary impression of Raskin the little rascal is his memorable intervention in May’s Cup Final, where his blatant goal-line push on Joe Hart at a corner saw a goal for his side which otherwise might have stood disallowed and his sterling effort to stop Paulo Bernardo in the dying seconds of the game led to Idah scoring the winning goal. Quite a telling contribution for his side which I’m sure would not have gone unnoticed by any watching talent spotters from Chelsea or anywhere else. Maybe he was ‘tired’ that day too…..
