Brendan Rodgers has named the same side as started against Hearts on Saturday for tonight’s Champions League tie at home to Club Brugge.
Another 4-1 win would be very welcome but against far stronger opponents any winning scoreline would be greeted with delight and take the hoops onto 10 points from five matches and virtually guarantee Champions League football into February.
Palma scored twice on international duty for Honduras against Mexico on international duty but failed to make the bench at Tynecastle, with two additional substitute places he is in tonight’s squad alongside Stephen Welsh.
After beating RB Leipzig 3-1 there is an expectation on Celtic tonight but it required an exceptional performance to beat the German side, repeating that level tonight will be required to take anything from the match.
Brugge come into the match on four points but a home win against Aston Villa on Matchday 4 has given them confidence with a testing run of fixtures in their three remaining matches.
Next up for Celtic in the Champions League is an away day to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday December 10.
CELTIC: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Kuhn, Kyogo, Maeda
SUBS: Sinisalo, Scales, Palma, Idah, Valle, Yang, McCowan, Nawrocki, Bernardo, Forrest, Ralston, Welsh

We’re certainly in with a shout tonight but it’ll take another top performance to get the 3 points we all crave. Some Tim sites are getting a wee bit giddy and I seriously hope the team doesn’t follow suit as Brugge will be a tough nut to crack. Strangely, one of my biggest fears is from the ‘men in black’. I’ve been almost stupefied by some refereeing decisions right across the fitba spectrum ( I watch a fair amount from EFL 2, via Scotland and into Europe) and it’s not just in Scotland bizarre decisions are reached. We KNOW the score in Scotland and the misnamed ‘honest mistakes’ but some fukkin refs are just clowns with a bit of power and act accordingly. No forecast from here, just to say if we play really well and no shocking ref outcomes we CAN get a result tonight.
COME ON YOU BHOYS IN GREEN!
Aye, okay, I forgot about us shootin wirsels in the foot it bit. FFS!
Forgot to say, one of the best refs I’ve seen in years tonight, if not decades.
The proper standard was the Italian, was it Collini? No shit, smile, no shit. Terrific.
We’re still well in there…… a possible result in Zagreb……Young Boys at home and then Aston Villa away.
We’ve a good track record against English top flight. Both Manchesters knew they were in a game. Narrow wins and draws.
Leeds United under Revie were ‘guaranteed’ to beat us. We beat them home (Hampden) and away.
“Men against boys”, the arsehole Souness said. Celtic dispatched Blackburn Rovers.
We then won vs Liverpool before being unlucky and having the cheat Mourinho against us and Rab Douglas tae in Seville.
Going to Villa doesn’t frighten me but I’d soo ner we sewed up g’teed February football before this.
Hail! Hail! The Glasgow Celtic, Come On You Bhoys In Green!
Oh, FFS, I think I’ve started talkin’ tae masel? FFS!
Hatate is garbage
Finished
Rank rotten
How he’s been selected is an affront to McGowan.
On the half turns he’s nudged and loses the ball
Head up, 40 yard pass and he loses the ball.
He can’t track back and recover it, 95% of passes are bsll turnover. He’s shcrott.
And Taylor ain’t even 60% the player Valle is.
Bernardo should start with Engel coming on to replace him, not other ways round
David, see after last night and with many garbage performances before it, I have to agree about Hatate, a player with his A game a really classy performer but can stoop to bombscare as he was last night.
Engels I have ‘faith’ in but as we discussed last night, he needs to start proving it.
Bernardo, IMHO, should be starting as he ALWAYS brings ‘gifts to the table’.
I’d also now play Valle before Taylor but they’re not like-for-like players.
I said yesterday if we do this and that happens we can get 3 pts. I forgot our propensity to shoot ourselves in the foot!!
