Ally McCoist has admitted that his old club can’t afford to sack Phil Clement.
The Belgian Beale signed a contract extension just before the start of the new season but now has a record that is as bad as Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha.
After losing away to Kilmarbock last month concern from fans turned into alarm, following that up with defeat away to Aberdeen wiped away any lingering backing from the loyal support.
Saturday’s home draw with Dundee United was met with more apathy and anger as the 2012 Tribute Act finished the weekend 11 points behind Celtic after 12 SPFL matches, seven at home and five away which is the reverse of the fixtures that the champions have faced.
During Sunday WhatsApp rumours build up a frenzy of expectation that Clement was about to leave but that bubble was burst by media messengers as the 6pm timeline passed without any statement from Ibrox.
Listening in to TalkSPORT discussing the sacking of Clement, Football Scotland reports McCoist saying:
It won’t happen. I don’t think the club is in a financial place to do that anyway, but it’s been poor. The boys were at the game. I didn’t make the game on Saturday. The boys said it was really, really poor. Miles off it.
It’s going to be a struggle to finish second this year. A cup final coming up against Celtic. League Cup final against Celtic who again, had another great result over the weekend. We’ve got the cup final and I’m going to Nice to watch Rangers on Thursday. I think the uncertainty above him hasn’t helped him, there’s no doubt about it.
Yes, of course, results also haven’t been good enough. I get that totally but at this moment in time, I think there’s going to be news breaking later today regarding changes in the board and changes in personnel above him, which is long overdue.
McCoist is very close to Caretaker Chairman John Gilligan, soon after his TalkSPORT comments it was announced that Patrick Stewart will takeover as CEO on December 16, a day after the League Cup Final at Hampden against Celtic.
Unless a huge bid comes in to sign a player in January it is difficult to see how finances are going to improve enough to pay off Clement and his backroom team.
How much dough will it cost to attempt to fix the multitude of holes , cracks and crumbling structure of the old ,old stadium in Govanlandia ? Let’s just say that little DIY number will be rather expensive ..to put it mildly !
the very same reason he never got sacked the worst ever manager in their short history. he really has some brass neck after his results in 2014 15 in a one horse race.
He was on twice the wages of Lennon in his time at Liebrox…
Utterly incredible –
No wonder guys in ma local pub referred to him as Super ‘Salary’ Ally / Super ‘Swally’ Ally !!!
McCausland looks like an extra from the film Deliverance.
Now on to sevco signings in January,Miller from Motherwell £4 million quid, some geezer from a club in Romania £4 million quid, now just where is this money coming from, when we hear Sally McMoist telling everyone the sevco klub can’t afford to sack Kojak finances wise,but£8 million quid is available to spend 2 players.
The bald eagle will be gone by the time the cup final arrives, though how they get the money to bag from I don’t know, lol maybe they will bite into that £8 million quid just floating about to buy the above players mentioned in January.
Fat Sally stating the obvious….’Though wi’ his many millions you would hope he would bail them oot..Being a real Rangers man an’ at…..BUT…Also glad you highlighted the fixture list…Fiddled tae feck.
They will have the money to sack him as they will agree Garden Leave. That could itself have been a main reason for the new contract. That Sevco can put him on Garden Leave for the remainder of his contract.
It’s the fact that they don’t have the funds to back a new manager or even settle out any compensation/ compromise contracts with existing staff together out in short medium term.
And it’s absolutely corrupt that SPFL always manipulates the fixtures to ensure Sevco get the majority of home games ( and always at home on Boxing Day) until called out by Brendan Rodgers. Brendan is a very clever guy , he knows what he’s doing with every media appearance.
Michael Nicolson is simply Neil Lennon in a suit. A Peter Lawwell Yes Man and Crony who is not up to the job….
