James Tavernier delighted his army of fans by admitting that the 2-2 draw with Motherwell was disappointing- just FOUR SECONDS into an interview with club media.
The former Wigan ace has been keeping a low profile this season after the shameless attempts during the summer to strip him of the armband of dignity.
Jack Butland hasn’t been slow to indulge in self promotion but after the last two matches the former Crystal Palace reserve has made himself unavailable for media duties.
The good news for both men is that they are on long term contracts, Tavernier until May 2026 with Butland having an additional 12 months.

In his rare media interviews Tav has made a determined effort to avoid saying disappointed but in his first answer yesterday he let it slip and all bets were off.
As well as being disappointed the Ibrox legend loves to say the word obviously, barely an answer passes his lips without the O word but it is the D word that the 33-year-old will be forever associated with.
On Wednesday Tav’s Testimonial Year gets underway, full details of the glamour match have still to be announced but it is expected that the 2016 Petrofac Cup Winners will parade a replica of the trophy with stars like Andy Halliday, Jason Holt, Jordan Jones, Martyn Waghorn, Carlos Pena, Declan John and Wes Foderingham expected to make guest appearances.
