Alexandro Bernabei has been voted into the Team of the Year as chosen by the CBF, the Brazilian Football Federation.
It is quite an achievement for the defender who was deemed surplus to requirements at Celtic, being sent out on loan in March with no natural left-back other than Greg Taylor in the squad.
Bernabei played in 23 of Internacional’s 38 league matches which was enough to get him into the Team of the Year, selected from the 20 top flight clubs.

TRANSLATION: Alexandro Bernabei and Alan Patrick are in the Brazilian Championship Team. The award was given by the CBF itself.
Despite his form, recognised by his place in the Team of the Year, there has been no indication that there is a place at Celtic waiting on Bernabei now that his loan spell has been completed.
Alex Valle was signed on loan from Barcelona in August and is providing cover and competition to Taylor, last season Bernabei never made it into Celtic’s Champions League squad.
There has been suggestions that Internacional are looking to secure a permanent transfer or another loan deal for the Argentinian defender but the £8m price tag looks to be out of their price range.
Other South American clubs could be interested but with an Italian passport the European Serie A might be a more likely destination than an extended stay in Brazil.
