Kyogo Furuhashi was up bright and early on Sunday with his focus firmly on Zagreb.

Tuesday’s match against Dinamo gives Celtic a more than decent chance of picking up a point or three as they edge closer to advancing in the Champions League.

After two seasons of sometimes painful lessons and experiences things seem to be coming together for the hoops with Brendan Rodgers building a strong effective squad that stretches beyond the Staring XI.

Kyogo and Adam Idah have rotated as the main striker with Saturday’s win over Hibs illustrating their ‘partnership’.

Idah was out of luck with a few efforts although his 54th minute header forced the own goal out of Joe Newell that gave Celtic their second goal.

Without doubt the highlight of the win over Hibs was provided by Kyogo in the 84th minute, a goal stamped with the quality that is more associated with the Champions League than the SPFL Premiership.

Taking a pass from James Forrest, Kyogo let the ball across his body, took a touch on his right foot then delivered the most delicate of chips over Jordan Smith to complete the scoring.

There is very little turnaround time between matches, Celtic fly out to Zagreb tomorrow with Brendan Rodgers hosting his pre-match media conference in the early evening.

With Tuesday’s match kicking off at 5.45 UK time the squad could be back in Glasgow around midnight as the preparations begin for Sunday’s League Cup Final at Hampden.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Kyogo’s goal was outstanding…but when I see our left back popping up all over the place…once as a right winger…you don’t need to wonder about our defence…We get caught out too often with long balls over the top…and it almost cost us on Saturday….Can’t do that on Tuesday.
