There wasn’t much love in the air today from Ibrox fans as Cyriel Dessers celebrated his 30th birthday.
At best there was a mixed selection of responses to the early morning tweet but the main reactions were of anger and contempt.
On the surface 12 goals at this time of year is decent going but beneath the numbers those fans have watched 18 months of a very average forward getting rich on the most lucrative contract of his career.
Signed by Micky Beale in the summer of 2023 after those teasing Instagram posts as he scoured Serie A for mediocrity, returning with the just relegated Cremonese striker and the equally ordinary Sam Lammers. The Poster Boys for the Beale Revolution!

Dessers managed one goal for Beale but found a role in the Clement Revolution, mainly due to a knee injury to Danilo that left the Nigerian striker as the only option left to A Proper Football Manager.
Despite his failings Clement found a role for Dessers, with James Tavernier knocking in the penalties a title challenge was mounted.
In April against Celtic, Ross County and Dundee ability caught up with the former Cremonese striker, two points out of nine were collected as the title race swung in a familiar direction.
At Dingwall and Dens Park the loyal fans made their anger clear as the second Revolution of the season was buried.
After starting this season as the only available striker birthday boy has managed to slip to third choice behind Danilo and new hero Hamza Igamane, a sort of cheaper version of Fashion Sakala.
Attempts to shift Dessers last summer stumbled when it came to personal terms, a similar situation is expected in January.
With his contract running until May 2027 it looks like the angry bears will have to put up with their 30-something striker for a while yet.

We need to watch we are not getting to rocky here in regards to the final next week.
We need to be on our guard from the first whistle as they will have their backs up and full of confidence after those last few results,so let’s take nothing for granted.
I see auld Spew Heevins was at it again this morning by praising Kojak’s team and apparently on a revival with the auld DOPEY backing up his stuntman Scott McDermott at the same daily toilet paper by doubling down on srvco beating Spurs on Thursday and winning the cup final next Sunday.
The quadruple is back on just ask the FUDS in the Scottish press and the ARSEHOLES at the BBC.
Last few games I haven’t exactly seen us set the heather alight.
Unless that changes, this final is gonna be tight.
And tight helps them and Beaton n co.
Cocky this predictive texting.
