Kris Boyd held fire for almost 24 hours before letting go of his anger over Celtic’s victory in the League Cup Final.
When he is in the studio with his Sky Sports buddies Boyd plays up to his image as the likeable village idiot, one of the few roles that he is overqualified for.
Celtic winning their 119th trophy is no laughing matter with Boyd ready to lead a Tuesday morning storming of the SFA to demand answers to the non-penalty controversy.
Prompted by Bobby Madden every bear under the sun is screaming penalty for the shirt pull on Vaclav Cerny by Liam Scales, completely ignoring the fact that John Beaton had blown for a free kick by the Celtic defender seconds earlier.
Bears rarely deal in reality, not when they are being fed the darkest of conspiracies, made all the more ridiculous by the fact that it centres around Beaton, Steven McLean and Alan Muir.
Boyd didn’t appear on Sky Sports yesterday, he stayed away from Instagram but the call came in from The Sun this afternoon.
He couldn’t hold back with his voice rising in parallel with the levels of anger.
The issue here is that VAR has let John Beaton down. Alan Muir was the VAR and Frank Connor was the assistant VAR. What were they doing?
There is really no excuse. You have the video there and you should see it. There is no reason for them to miss this. The pull of the shirt finishes inside the box.
John Beaton has missed it on the field, which I can totally understand. But for two people to miss it on a screen is not good enough.
It’s time to stand up and ask questions.
If I am Patrick Stewart or Fraser Thornton, who started at Rangers on Monday, the first thing I’m doing is demanding a meeting with the SFA, with Willie Collum and Ian Maxwell.
They are going to have to lead Rangers. The time is now to be asking questions. There’s no getting away from it.
Rangers fans will want Patrick Stewart to ask the question.
The SFA provide the match officials and I’d want to get to the bottom of why the VAR didn’t intervene – because it’s not good enough.
Willie has been out there and transparent. I’d want to get to the bottom of this. They need to get to the bottom of why the penalty wasn’t given
Boyd added:
A few months, it was a laugh and a joke about Rangers always getting penalties. I wonder what people are saying now.
Michael Nicholson, at the Celtic AGM last year, stood up and was asked what the club would do about missed VAR decisions – and he said ‘Give a penalty to Rangers’.
Peter Lawwell said the last penalty kick given against Rangers for handball was given away by John Greig.
Boyd’s anger will be at Tannadice on Sunday as the Champions take on Dundee United.

from day one the stonewall handball at tynecastle then the jota offside at fir park and the goldston hand ball incidents the whole episode has been shambolic.
“If I am Patrick Stewart or Fraser Thornton…”
Someone should tell Boyd that no, he isn’t either! 🙂
And, it’s highly unlikely that the first day for the Chairman and CEO
– of a club in financial meltdown –
will be dedicated to reviewing refereeing decisions.
Want a bet ?
I stand corrected.
“…and Record Sport understands that new CEO Stewart – who started in his new role on Monday morning after the final – has spoken to the SFA to ask for an explanation over the non-award.”
And who am I to query the veracity of “Record Sport understands”. 🙂
He conveniently ‘forgets’ that Jefte should have been sent off – Perhaps Raskin as well !
Em…Kris em… Boyd em…. Face for em…radio but not the em…eloquence… em…
Just a Fat Dik whoze opinion is LAFFABLE! Belongs in a Care Hame wae Peeness!!
Well when they see that Beaton blew his whistle before it reached the box. No penalty.
Patrick Stewart says “Make it SO !”
Other way about and you bet your boots the headline in every rag would’ve been
BOYD SAYS NO PENALTY
along with a picture of him smiling
Just watched the YouTube video of that illiterate klown Boyd, FFS , how many times he says EHM , when trying to complete a sentence is irritatingly annoying, must have been over a hundred times.
