Kris Boyd has warned Phil Clement that there is no way that he should survive losing to Celtic on Thursday.
The Ibrox boss will claim that his focus is fully on Sunday’s match away to Motherwell but after 14 months in the job he has still to record a win over Celtic.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Micky Beale each managed a single win in the Glasgow Derby but failed to survive beyond a year with nine and seven point deficits in the SPFL Premiership.
Clement has outlasted both of his predecessors but patience is wearing thin with the gap at the top of the table standing at 12 points.
Boyd has watched the season unfold ringside with Sky Sports with the next two matches full of danger for the Ibrox boss.
Throughout the city attention is on the January 2 Glasgow Derby, in The Sun Boyd spells out exactly what is at stake for the current Ibrox boss:
Gers have now played eight away games in the Premiership — and lost four of them.
They’ve dropped 14 points in those fixtures and have a goal difference on the road of MINUS ONE.
This is Rangers we’re talking about — you don’t hear Clement speaking about budgets, like he did before Spurs and Celtic, with regards to that dismal record.
There has been a lot of change at Ibrox, but has the Belgian assembled a squad that is ever going to be good enough, or care enough?
Again, maybe I’m old- fashioned, but it seems to me that some of these players are coasting, happy to pick up the biggest wage of their careers at the biggest club they will ever be at.
Are Oscar Cortes, Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell providing value for money?
Now Rangers move on to Motherwell at Fir Park tomorrow and you’ll be lucky to find anyone who would bet any of their hard-earned cash on them winning.
Then it’s Celtic at Ibrox in the second league derby of the season, when you can be sure Brendan Rodgers will be telling his players to go in for the kill.
Clement will hope to pull a result out of the bag — but if he loses yet another Old Firm game, there is no way he should survive it.
Whatever happens over the next two matches Boyd will be in the spotlight as he gives instant verdicts on Clement and his team.
With Chis Sutton also part of the team for Sky Sports there is bound to be plenty of lively debate and discussion in the studio to match the fireworks expected on the pitch.

Did the confetti share issues, with the begging bowl, that got 8M put into it, actually allow for the pay off, for the Belgium waffler?
Somehow I don’t think so?
Looks like he’s turned (yet another) corner regarding Fillipe Fillop…
All beautiful schadenfreude of the highest degree –
Ta for bringing it to me free o’ charge Video Celts !!!

The Twelfth of Never Scousebhoy – Just like everyone else !
How many corner’s does Phileeep Blancmange need?
How many corner’s does Phileeep Blancmange need before he does one.
I can see Ferguson and Rae ( sounds like Administrators), being interim coaches until the end of the season when Mr Clement gets pumped . They don’t have the bunce to bring in a new guy in January , especially with a transfer window ,who would want to buy in his own players rather than the current losers . Or maybe a new call to big Murts will happen ..there’s a guy who can toe the party line at all times and who will literally ” bend over backwards ” for the cause .A fine gymnast …
Man ,that’s all we need ,after the Glasgow derby ? Another white hot uber rant from big fake Kris Boyd ,about how dire his theRangers team is ? How many has he spouted out this season alone ? I lost count after 6 ….
Really hope ferguson and rae take over when flip flop gets chased , imagine they 2 klowns at the helm , they couldn’t teach a dog to shite
