‘Super-computer’ predicts five SPFL defeats for Celtic

Over the course of one week the ‘super-computer’ at the Gers Report has cut the expected winning margin at the top of the SPFL Premiership table from 22 points down to 17.

It seems that the excitement of scoring nine goals against Kilmarnock and Ross County has worked wonders for Phil Clement’s side with a fresh Revolution! underway as the Belgian Beale hangs onto his job.

This weeks projection has Celtic finishing up on 96.85 points, it is edging upwards but still represents a big fall off in form from the first 15 matches of the season which has yielded 43 points.

For that to happen Celtic will need to drop 15 more points which equates to five defeats over the remaining 23 matches.

Going unbeaten through the season remains unlikely but not impossible but losing five times in the SPFL is the sort of hope that keeps Ibrox fans going that the hoops won’t become the first ever Scottish club to be champions for the 55th time.

Having won away from home at Kilmarnock, Hearts and Aberdeen over the last month the next batch of SPFL fixtures should be easier for Celtic with the exception of the January 2 visit to Ibrox.

Pittodrie and Ibrox appear to be the venues that Rodgers thrives at with his record in the Glasgow Derby containing just one defeat over two stints, that came in December 2018 when John Beaton gave Alfredo Morelos licence to do whatever he liked without even a booking.

SPFL business goes on hold over the next 10 days before the festive programme kicks off at Tannadice on December 22 with eight matches to be played in less than a month before the Scottish Cup tie at home to Kilmarnock on January 18.
