Brendan Rodgers has made five changes to the Celtic side which won the League Cup for today’s match against Dundee United.
Greg Taylor is the only defender that started the match at Hampden that survives through to today’s match with Tony Ralston, Stephen Welsh (without a single SPFL Premiership appearance this season) and Liam Scales giving the backline a very new look.
Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty drop completely out of the match squad.
In midfielder Luke McCowan replaces Paulo Bernardo with Yang Hyun-jun coming in for Nicolas Kuhn, it is just the second SPFL start of the season for the South Korean.
With 43 points from 15 SPFL matches Celtic are in pole position to retain the title but eight matches before January 15 will go a long way towards deciding how 2025 shapes up.
David Dickinson will referee today’s match, his last Celtic match was in October when they won 3-0 at Motherwell with Liam Gordon getting a late red card following a VAR review.
CELTIC: Schmeichel; Ralston, Welsh, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, McCowan, Hatate; Yang, Kyogo, Maeda
SUBS: Sinisalo, Palma, Idah, Valle, Valle, Nawrocki, Engels, Bernardo, Bonnar, Donovan

Looking at that lineup going to need a big performance from Scales today I think. That new backline and Yang playing, well in Rogers we trust but I can see the bench being very important.
Some team Joe ? let’s hope for a good result ???
SSB yesterday were all excited about the sevco win moving into second place from Aberdeen, all the panel members predicted a goal feast for sevco to win the game comfortably.
Rudolph Dalziel(that’s the hun supporter with a nose thar looks like it’s drank every pub in Scotland of it’s alcohol content)right up to the last 5 minutes was still shouting for plenty of goals from sevco,he even got excited about Cyril the bawbag coming on,he’s guaranteed getting you a couple of goals he said, with the others still screaming for more sevco goals as well.
Not one mention yesterday on that programme about the emergency funding of £8 million to another part of the season out.
Then with the announcement of Butland pulling out the squad at the last minute after named as goalkeeper half an hour previously, the panel again giving it was personal reasons he pulled out.
