Chris Sutton has lived through plenty of Ibrox revivals and Revolutions!, all it takes is three wins on the bounce to get Ally McCoist and Kris Boyd acting like excited schoolboys while full sized bears go overboard online.

Every manager has had it since Mark Warburton led the Tribute Act into the top flight on the back of all sorts of promises.

Joe Barton and Nicky Kranjcar were the star turns in that Revolution! which ended up in third place in a two horse race 39 points behind the Invincibles.

Pedro Caixinha, Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Micky Beale all enjoyed  their moments while Celtic extended the most dominant period of success in the history of Scottish football.

Five trebles and two doubles over the last eight seasons is fairly emphatic but after beating Kilmarnock 6-0 on Wednesday a familiar message is emerging about Phil Clement’s exciting young team.

Sutton has heard it all before, a week before the first Glasgow Derby of the season Ross County were skelped 6-0 at Hampden with Rabbi Matondo turning in a world class display. Eight days later Boyd was in full meltdown mode, again.

Sutton will be part of the Sky Sports team watching closely at Ross County tomorrow, reflecting on the resurrected Revolution that crush Killie, the former Celtic striker told Daily Record readers:

In terms of Rangers, that’s them back now isn’t it? Well, not quite. The wins against Nice, St Johnstone and sticking six by Kilmarnock will have eased some of the pressure on Philippe Clement.

But it could be right back on him in the next week with Ange Postecogou’s Spurs and the Premier Sports Cup Final against Celtic on the horizon. There won’t be many fans caring about hitting half a dozen against Killie if he loses to Rodgers yet again.

The recent upturn in results at Ibrox will have boosted their confidence though and it does seem like Clement has stumbled on a line up and a way to play in the last week or so. The real acid test is on the way though.

And if Celtic can stick the first leg of the Treble on the sideboard, then supporters can maybe start talking about the prospects of Invincibles 2.

The next 10 days will be telling for both teams in Glasgow, history and current performances suggest that the latest Ibrox Revolution! Will be as short lived as the last- and the next.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
