Anyone doubting the influence of Luke McCowan on Celtic’s 5-0 win over Ross County only has to take a look at the Unique Angle coverage from Celtic TV.
At the start of the season the midfielder was in action for Dundee, yesterday he was the heartbeat of Celtic with an involvement in all of the goals.
McCowan took the corner for Liam Scales to open the scoring, notched the second from a Scales pass then provided the assists for the goals scored by Callum McGregor and Adam Idah.
For the third it was the one time Ayr United man that sent Daizen Maeda free in the penalty box, from his cut-back Paolo Bernardo found the net.
The Ross County match was just the third SPFL start that McCowan has made since his Deadline Day switch to Celtic, already he has three goals to his name.
Unfortunately he did play for Dundee in the League Cup win over Airdrie which leaves him cup-tied for the final at Hampden in two weeks time.
That reduces the options for Brendan Rodgers in two weeks time but in the four matches before the first trophy is decided he has five strong midfield options for three places.

No doubt about it the quadruplei is back on again the same as last season, auld Spew Heevins was giving it on Friday night if Celtic go 14 points clear over the weekend the league is finished, so he still thinks that 11 point gap can be closed and sevco can be champions
Still early days, but if McCowan maintains his consistency, takes his starting chances – and also develops further…
then he could be our CalMac of the future?
