Despite the denial of Brendan Rodgers on Tuesday night, Anthony Joseph is adamant that there is live Celtic interest in signing Sondre Ørjasæter.
According to the Sky Sports News reporter an offer for the winger was rejected by Sarpsborg but Celtic are still looking to complete the deal.
Things could have picked up dramatically after Rodgers’ media conference on Tuesday at Villa Park when he said that he wasn’t aware of interest in the winger but there is a huge difference between what the Celtic boss is saying and Sky Sports are reporting.
Rodgers will be expected to give Sky Sports an exclusive interview from Lennoxtown today, technically it will be to preview Sunday’s match at Motherwell but transfer business and the Champions League draw are likely to lead the conversation.
UPDATE: Sarpsborg have rejected Celtic’s opening bid of £4.6m for winger Sondre Ørjasæter.
The Norwegian club are trying to resist bids in this window, but Celtic are looking to pursue a deal.
It’s understood Sarpsborg value the 21yo at around £7m.
