Celtic have shared Kyogo Furuhashi’s emotional farewell to hoops supporters.
As recently as Wednesday night the striker had the ball in the net three times against YB Bern but the celebrations of the fans was cut short on eaxch occasion by VAR.
As the final whistle blew to celebrations inside Celtic Park another drama was starting off with reports from France that Rennes had secured a deal to sign the striker.
By the time fans were travelling back from the YB Bern the scoreline had been overtaken by the news that Kyogo had played his last ever Celtic match. It was an incredible twist.

Over the past three-and-a-half years, I have been truly grateful for your wonderful support and cheering. From the moment I joined until my final day, I’ve been happy every step of the way.
Being able to enjoy so many wonderful moments and achievements with all of you made me feel like the happiest player in the world countless times. I believe these invaluable experiences were only possible because I came to Celtic.
Even as the time goes on, I am deeply moved and encouraged by the many warm messages and kind words I continue to receive, and I cannot thank you enough. I move forward but I will keep all of you in my heart and continue on my journey.
Lastly, I am very sorry that I couldn’t say goodbye to you all, but I will give my best in my new chapter. I am confident that my wonderful Celtic teammates, along with the manager and his backroom team will continue to create new and exciting moments for the rest of the season.

There was to be no Joe Hart or Tom Rogic style farewell to Kyogo from the Celtic support, the fans were left with just memories of a golden period that lifted the gloom of Lockdown.
It also involved the lifting of eight trophies out of 10 domestically with the striker turning out to be a specialist goalscorer in the Glasgow Derby.
This weekend Kyogo will make his debut in the red shirt of Rennes, even with Jota back in the building things won’t feel the same again as an emotional and highly successful Celtic chapter is signed off.

Obviously he goes with my thanks and best wishes…but once again a ” mystery ” surrounds his departure…It isn’t the first time this has happened…And knowing Celtic FC…it won’t be the last.
