For the second time in a fortnight Don Robertson will referee Celtic, taking charge of Tuesday’s match away to Dundee following his appointment for the Glasgow Derby.

It will be match 23 of the SPFL campaign, Tuesday will be the fifth time this season that the Glasgow based official will have refereed Brendan Rodgers’ side.

With 16 match officials that have taken charge of Premiership matches it seems that the SFA are overly keen on giving Robertson matches involving the SPFL champions.

Andrew Dallas will be on VAR duty, as he was on Sunday for the home win over St Mirren.

As well as his domestic matches Robertson has taken charge of two UEFA Conference matches this season as well as a Champions League qualifier in July.

Before they reach Dens Park Celtic have two other matches to negotiate starting with Dundee United at home on Wednesday then a trip to Ross County on Saturday.

Kevin Clancy will be in charge of the match against United with Matthew MacDermid refereeing the trip to Dingwall.

Celtic kick off against United with a 13 point gap at the top of the Premiership table, if they take nine points from the three matches in seven days they will be in a very strong position to retain the title before attention turns to facing Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

If ya wanna commit common assault and thuggery on the field of play then Robertson’s the best man to do it under his watch…

Far Far too lenient for this country of thuggish football louts on a pitch !
