Celtic’s interest in Raul Moro can be put on hold with Real Valladolid announcing that the winger will be out of action for two to three months after breaking his collarbone during the 2-1 defeat away to Espanyol on Friday night.
The winger had been listed among the many that Celtic are interested in with that area of the park viewed by Brendan Rodgers as one that needs strengthened this month.
At 22-years-old Moro appeared to tick most of the boxes for that assignment with Paul Tisdale, Head of Football Operations believed to be leading all matters recruitment since his autumn appointment.
The Valladolid website confirms:
Friday night, in addition to the defeat against RCD Espanyol , brought the bad news for Real Valladolid of Raúl Moro’s injury . The attacker suffered a fracture in the middle third of his right collarbone when he fell to the ground after being fouled in the 55th minute. An unfortunate action that will make him go through surgery and will keep him out for between two and three months.
While it is bad news for the player Celtic still have almost a fortnight to complete business with Rodgers remaining confident that his squad will get the boosts required.
Celtic have two Champions League matches in the next 10 days which will take some attention away from transfer activities.
Any new signing won’t be eligible to play against YB Bern or Aston Villa but a win against the Swiss side would ensure that February includes two matches for a place in the Champions League Round of 16.
As It Stands someone currently in the squad would need to drop out to make way for a new signing, Stephen Welsh can only be replaced by a player that has came through the Celtic Academy while Odin Thiago Holm, on loan at LAFC was excluded from the UEFA squad.

Luis Palma is still listed in UEFA ‘s Celtic FC Champions League List.
He has played 16 minutes 2024/2025. 30.75 km/hr top speed. 100% passing accuracy.
2.47 kn distance covered. Too late now but all the best to Luis. I would have liked him to stay, despite what other Fans say and Celtic Legends said in the SMSM. (Hartson, Bonnar,
Sutton).
