Phil Clement went on his second penalty meltdown in a month following the 3-3 draw away to Hibs.
After 10 away matches this season in the SPFL Premiership the Belgian boss has watched his side win just three times with four defeats and four draws on his record.
On December 15 at Hampden Clement claimed that his phone had been swamped by messages and clips showing that his side had been denied a penalty in the League Cup Final against Celtic.
A few days later he claimed that the whole of Europe was talking about the decision.

I’m very disappointed about conceding the penalty like that. Not about the way but about the decision. It’s just a collision of two players, with their hips against each other.
You cannot say that one makes a foul and the other one not a foul in that moment. It’s just a collision between two players and Ianis was even the one a little bit in front, maybe, and the other player, his legs do around him.
It’s a game decisive moment and it’s really sore to have that again against you.
Today’s flashpoint came on the hourmark when Ianis Hagi put in a challenge just inside the penalty box, it was an awkward challenge from the midfielder, John Beaton awarded a penalty with no intervention from Kevin Clancy on VAR.
Martin Boyle scored from the penalty spot, Hamza Igamane restored the lead for the visitors but Rick Bushiri equalised in the 83rd minute.
Both sides had chances to win the match but had to settle for a draw, afterwards there seemed to be only one issue for Clement to discuss in his Sky Sports interview.
With Celtic beating St Mirren 3-0 the hoops have stretched their lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership to 13 points.

Deflection to take the heat off himself for blowing a 2 nil lead and their diabolical away form
Knowing full well the press will go along with it .
He’s taking them for mugs
In that respect he’s right, they are mugs! 🙂
A much improved performance today but it could hardly be anything else as the new hun game was just shocking all over the place.
Nice to see Hibs come back from 2 down and also from 3-2 down so we need to respect them when we go there and even at CP too.
COYBIG
As per usual if it,s against SEVCO it,s wrong no matter how clear it is ,if it,s for SEVCO it,s right no matter how wrong it is , this clown has more DBL standards then mcD,s has dbl burgers , the worst self righteous so called coach that,s ever been in Scottish football ,I,d be ashamed and embarrassed if it was a Celtic coach coming out with utter nonsense ths prize clown comes out , no mention of the red card VAR helped them avoid again for a dirty studs up challenge that had it been on a SEVCO player the red would have been instant without any shadow of doubt. Clemont your a pathetic excuse for a man and coach , honesty has never been in your vocabulary, look up the meaning of you self righteous excuse for a man
Whit you said…Spot on.
Ahh the ol wangers dwop points AGAiN!!!
They don’t travel well that lot..
The past few days ud think the ranger klub had somehow won some silverware…. every dog and all that..!
Well done Hibees, should have won!!
It was an absolute stonewall penalty that Beaton realised he had to give in a vain hope VAR would bail him out
To lose a 2 goal lead at hibs is not a good look
Let’s see how the fawning hacks deal with this one
He badly needed an angle in which to blame the 3-3 draw with Hibs , especially after leading 2-0 and 3- 2 respectively…didn’t he ? The referee blame game only gives him some other time with the Ibroxland hierarchy who will pull the trigger on his failures sooner rather than later, now they have another sale of confetti in which to spend …as my old man used to say .. ” he’s chasing rainbows!”
A few comments on today’s match at Easter Rd. –
Hibs aren’t very good, yet they scored three against TRFC. It could have been more.
TRFC really are relying on Igamane. To his credit, he’s doing well.
Hagi was dreadful today, at least as bad as Cantwell sometimes was.
How Propper (not even a foul given) & Diomande (a free kick) got away with their tackles on Boyle in the first half is amazing. Propper was eventually booked with 5 mins. to go & Diomande survived the game without a yellow.
Hibs’ N. Cadden was booked for a similar tackle to those made by Diomande & Propper.
J. Beaton gave TRFC the benefit of his usual ‘soft’ refereeing style in their favour: odd non-fouls in their favour, ‘missed’ fouls by TRFC players & stopped the game a couple of times when Hibs were in good possession. He simply shouldn’t be reffing TRFC games. In fact, he shouldn’t be reffing any games under an SFA banner.
Which brings me to the Belgian Brainiac. Yes, he’s under pressure. Yes, his team lets him down. This constant carping about decisions against his team does him no favours & actually make him look foolish. Frankly, the SFA should publicly reprimand him, or even better, give him a Notice of Complaint under their Disciplinary Procedures. How about the Compliance Officer (called Martin Black, apparently, and all but invisible) give the SFA’s piss-poor officials some protection?
If Clement was an album by The Fall, he would be “I Am Furious Oranj”….. heh heh heh.
Or That Fall song
‘ Check the record , check the record , check the guy’s track record ‘
Hahahaha! Yeah. Or “I!ve Been Duped” from the Imperial Wax Solvent LP….
