Ibrox CEO Stewart ignores Clement’s transfer plea

Patrick Stewart is stalling on his planned media conference to discuss the plan for January transfer activity at Ibrox.

The former Manchester United suit was announced as the replacement for James Bisgrove at the end of November but opted to delay his start date until after the defeat in the League Cup Final.

Other than one bland interview to RTV full of cliches, buzzwords and no substance nothing has been heard of Stewart who is expected by delusional bears to fill Clement’s transfer war-chest.

The reality is full on Austerity to try to get a stay of execution as UEFA finally implement Financial Stability Rules alongside the refusal of former Chairman John Bennett and Douglas Park to provide any more interest bearing loans.

After the weekend draw at Hibs bears expected their club to sign two no-nonsense centre-halfs in time to face Dundee tomorrow. Ryan Porteous, Johny Evans and Nikola Katic won’t be anywhere near Dens Park this week.

Clement will have to hope that Robin Propper and Leon King can cope with the full force of Simon Murray with his transfer hopes a closely guarded secret.

Asked about Stewart’s planned press conference, Clement said:

Like I said the last press conference, Patrick will address that and what the plan is for the club for January. It will be in the next couple of days.

The reality is that the best Clement can hope for is getting one player in on loan towards the end of the month.

While Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell, Oscar Cortes, Tom Lawrence and Cyriel Dessers draw massive wages income just isn’t getting close to matching payroll demands. Last year the Tribute Act lost £17.2m, almost £1.5m a month.

Some food news however is that Jose Cifuentes, signed by Micky Beale in July 2023, is expected back with ARIS Thessaloniki expected to cut short his loan.

Dujon Sterling is almost certain to join Jack Butland, James Tavernier, John Souttar and Leon Balogun on the sidelines for the match at Dundee.

    The cry was no defenders.

Just to be a bit mischievous…

What if Clement is telling porkies?

What if the new CEO had absolutely no intention of speaking to the media?

What if Clement has just thrown the CEO under the bus?

    There’s no downside for Clement.

IF the CEO doesn’t have a presser, then he’s hiding and not supporting Clement?
The CEO is then to blame for a lack of transfer business.

IF the CEO is raging with Clement, he can fire him – but that will cost sevco big-time! 🙂

Think there’s more chance of more going out than coming in.

A cracking start to this wee thread, well said BriBhoy and thanks to Joe for providing this excellent site.
As for the new huns deliberations I couldn’t really care less: we take care of OUR business and we win the Title and THAT’S what matters.
However: “…….nothing has been heard of Stewart……”. Hmmm, a relation Of Michael Nicholson’s then?
D’you know what? I nearly just put “Nicholson” as I couldn’t think of his 1st name for a bit.
So unlike his selector Peter, whose name I wish I’d never heard of.
