The Norwegian reporter that broke the news of Celtic’s interest in signing Odin Thiago Holm has tweeted that the hoops are now looking to sign Sondre Orjasaeter from Sarpsborg.
Holm’s Celtic career didn’t pan out as expected but the information about the deal in June 2023 was detailed and accurate.
Orjasaeter has been mentioned among the many wingers linked with Celtic this month but despite signing Jota from Rennes it does seems that Brendan Rodgers could be in the market for another wide-man.
The recent absences of Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda coupled with a longer term injury to James Forrest has highlighted the drop in quality when Rodgers has to turn to Yang Hyun Jun and Luis Palma.

Celtic want to buy Sarpsborg’s Sondre Ørjasæter (21) before the transfer window closes. Talks are ongoing. A sale with a total package of over NOK 100 million (£7.1M) seems likely.
According to what TV 2 has learned, the Scottish major club Celtic has given notice that they want to secure Sondre Ørjasæter in this transfer window.
– There has been interest in Sondre throughout this transfer window, but from experience it is only in the last days of the transfer window that things really happen. So we’ll see what happens, says Sarpsborg sporting director Hampus Andersson to TV 2.
The international transfer window closes on 3 February, and that means that a sale of Ørjasæter must go through within a short time.
Most Celtic fans are looking out for a striker to replace Kyogo Furuhashi but it appears that there is on-going activity throughout the squad.
Celtic have matches against Aston Villa and Motherwell before the transfer window closes with the Champions League Play Off ties being played on February 11/12 and 18/19.
Settling in time looks limited for any January signings but the tone of the report on Orjasaeter suggests that Celtic are planning ahead with squad building.

Clock is ticking down on transfer window…Be very interested to see what’s next…Not like us to leave it late…is it ??…Oh and I read an article by Scott Mc Dermott on the Daily Rectum…It seems Sevco have solved all their recent transfer problems…and are coming to get us…FFS who employs these people ?
You read LIES from that imbecile of a rag Terence !
Hi, I guess the blogs and the media will work themselves into a frenzy as the transfer window nears it’s close date. Best wait until the dust clears before we make any solid judgements on Celtic’s business in the transfer market regardless of what happens v Aston Villa.
So sad to read of the passing of Denis Law. I was privileged to see him play a couple of times for Man Utd and Scotland in the 1960s to the early 1970s. He was the real deal. On any given Sunday, as I was making my way up to Tolka Park to see Shelbourne, I’d think to myself : right now Pele is playing for Santos; Eusebio for Benfica and The Lawman playing for Man Utd. The three best strikers on the planet. May he rest in peace.
Bobby Lennox scored more goals than Denis Law!
He won the European Cup as a player before Denis did!
But he was capped only eight times to Denis’ fifty five caps.
A disparity there, for sure!
Maister, the ‘caps’ thing is/was just typical Scottish bigotry against Celtic FC and its players.
BUT, see if you can name the game where Bobby Lennox and Denis Law played alongside each other and BOTH scored a goal each. It DID happen.
TicToc, must have been a Scotland game, against England perhaps, I vaguely remember!
Yeah, your phrase
“Just Typical Scottish Bigotry”.
seems to accept that it was okay!
I just think Bobby Lennox did more for Scottish football than Denis Law ever did!
Correct. I think it was England’s 1st proper international after they won some cup or other. We won 3-2 at Wembley.
As for the caps thing, in your quote on my quote you missed the all-important “is/was”. I fukkin hate bigotry nearly as much as I hate huns 🙂 and the ‘brotherhood’ that runs Scottish fitba, those shameless goat worshippers.
Bobby Lennox was some player but you can’t really say he did more for Scottish fitba than Denis Law. He did more for Celtic, and also Scotland by association as Celtic were by far the best team in Scotland that year. Aye, Celtic won everything they entered then, The Glasgow Cup, The League Cup, The Scottish Cup, the League Title and, er, em, that big cup, that European Cup!
Probably the only club to achieve so much in a season and we (Scotland) fukked the English in their own midden to boot. What a memory and chasing it killed the original Rangers FC. Happy Daze!!
Now that Neymar has left the Saudi league,Chris itchy sack Jack and those other FAKE JOURNALISTS at the daily sevco will be putting it out there that he is heading to ibrox onloan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy him.
Double ManU swoop: Caseimero and Rashford to ibrox – you read it here first! 🙂
All sevco has left is their Academy players,
who will be ‘blooded’ perhaps earlier than planned, and even if not highly rated.
It’s a numbers game for sevco: not £ numbers but player numbers.
In the absence of transfer funds, or funds for loanees/frees with high wages,
the only option is to bring the kids into the first team squad ASAP.
…and that is exactly what they could have done at any point since 2012.
Achieve some sort of financial stability first?
But, the new CEO is quickly going to become the target for the bears’ hate! 🙂
