Phil Clement’s exciting young side drew 1-1 with Dundee tonight, leaving them 15 points behind Celtic after 22 matches.
It was the usual sub-standard type of performance served up by the Belgian Beale with the only variable being whether their opponents would do a St Mirren or a Motherwell.
Robin Propper wore the armband of dignity, the fourth player to do so in the last month with Clinton Nsiala brought in to make his debut. It was soon obvious why the former AC Milan starlet had no other interest from Italian clubs and opted to move to Scotland..
Following the match Clement offered the following excuses to Radio Scotland:
I understand the fans’ reaction, I’m also not happy losing these two points.
We struggled with all the injuries. In recent weeks we’ve conceded too many goals, but that wasn’t the case today. Clinton Nsiala played a good game.
What we’ve done well the last couple of weeks, creating and scoring, we lacked today. Is it freshness? It can be. It can be confidence also after going behind so we need to speak to the group. We were not decisive enough.
Oluwaseun Adewumi gave the home side the lead after six minutes but in the 34th minute Vaclav Cerny scored a controversial equaliser.
New Ibrox CEO Patrick Stewart is expected to make a statement on the January recruitment plan but there is a more pressing matter for the club to deal with as more and more fans realise that Clement is winging it as he serves up excuses for failing to beat teams with far smaller budgets.
The entire first team wage bill at St Mirren, Motherwell, Hibs and Dundee won’t match the money that Rabbi Matondo is being paid each week. Dundee were without seven first team players for tonight’s match with Lyle Cameron calling off this afternoon.
BBC Sport Scotland have offered round the clock counselling to all staff in the light of recent events. Kenny Macintyre was unable to host tonight’s edition of Sportsound due to personal reasons.

BOOM! AS BIG DONALD WOULD SAY,BYE BYE.
Dundee were robbed by hun officials
What happened to the Morrocan Messi, the £25 million man,was he not playing tonight.
He’s out injured now, having been flung under a bus by his manager after the game.
Fillipe Fillop is DUN by the DEE !!!!!!!
Loving their pain…Long may it continue.
Definite penalty to Dundee before the huns scored. You can’t score when someone’s standing on your foot. VAR sparing them from another defeat.
Those “the rangers” supporters will have to shout and scream and cry louder…Mr ClemOnt never heard them telling him to (go away you) or as we heard “f?&$ off you” ha ha ha
Clement must stay !!!!
Dignity FC, managed by Jacques Clouseau….
He’ll b back opening the door at the Addams family residence pretty soon.
They’re sh*te and they know they are. Just have to ask myself ” how the hell did they beat us 3-0. As other comments have said before ” its the hope that kills them”.
