Cagliari are the latest club to join the race to sign Cyriel Dessers.
There is of course virtually zero interest or demand in the Ibrox striker, there is plenty of interest in getting the 30-year-old off the Ibrox wage bill.
Halfway through his three year contract it is clear that Dessers is average on a good day, even in the SPFL.
Alongside Sam Lammers he was signed from Italy by Micky Beale to headline the charge for ‘#title56’, fortunately in the summer Utrecht were convinced to sign Lammers with no takers for Dessers.
Five players left Ibrox after June 30 for combined fees of £810,000, buying clubs are well aware of that with little demand for a striker who has been vilified by Ibrox fans.
The Cagliari link was started by a reporter from Teamtalk, not quite the most solid of sources.
?? #Cagliari are renewing their interest in #Dessers after previous attempts made in recent years, as @matteozizola told.
? The ?? are evaluating whether to take concrete steps soon.

Philippe Clement gives major update Hamza Igamane’s Rangers departure timeline as he draws parallels with Real Madrid acehttps://t.co/0etGLqbT2U

There is as much chance of Clement managing Real Madrid as there is of Igamane teaming up with Bellingham and Vini Jr.
Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers attracting transfer ‘interest’, could return to Italy https://t.co/7xzb8qpZOn

At his media conference to preview the match at Dundee Phil Clement again deflected comment on transfer activity to Patrick Stewart holding a media conference to discuss the January plan.
Breaking bad news to bears is never easy but despite the injury crisis in central defence no signings have been made since the 3-3 draw away to Hibs.
Meanwhile the Daily Record is reporting Jamaican defender Dick King as a possible transfer target.

Any mention of concrete in Sicily would give you sleepless nights!
Very good Kelly, concrete in Sicily,ha ha!!
Sounds like the Jamaican defender would fit right in – their defence certainly did a lot of Dick King around at Easter Road on Sunday…
Last night was brutal. Passing until the cows came home and then more passing. There is no midfielder who can, or is willing, run with a ball at his feet into their 20 yard box. I have never understood this obsession with getting to their 20 yard line and then papping the ball out to the winger who then crosses, giving you a less than 50% chance of getting the ball when you had it 100% and could have taken a shot.
I remember Bernardo coming on against Sevco in the final minutes, riding a tackle, charging towards goal and shooting with Idah meeting the rebound for the victory.
Not even he is doing that now.
I blame the coaching.
This might be a tad controversial but I think laziness is a factor. The first thought in their heads is to pass it to the first open player no matter how near and not how can I do something positive with the ball and exert myself a little. Macgregor is the master of passing the ball 3 yards then pointing to where the receiving player should play it.
Someone pointed out recently Macgregor holds the team back but the media have conned us into thinking he is “The Captain” and can’t be dropped. I genuinely believe Rodgers was not too convinced about him when he first came but was bullied in to buying the hype.
There I’ve said it.
Get out my head, are we not allowed to play one touch football anymore, do we have to take 2 & 3 touches and who said we can’t take a shot from outside the box? Idw to be a moan but it’s get to the box then sideways passing until we lose it.
Exactly. My grandson is a fan of Man City and would make me watch the 6 goals they were scoring every week with their one touch football. Then I noticed they had stopped that and I pointed it out that, like Celtic they are now taking two touches, one to control it and one to pass it. That is when the rot set in and they are struggling but why they changed I have no idea but that is where their problem lies. Celtic will struggle until they get some new coaches I think.
Hatate is a liability but to give him his due he does try one touch but doesn’t have the skill level to carry it off.
Big Cyril he couldn’t compete with the Morrocan Messi, still a few nickel&dimes might come in the door for him leaving, should he leave that is.
Dessers is 30 and grossly overpaid:
he’s not leaving ibrox until he has completed his contract in full, or paid off?
At best, sevco might get him out on loan…but probably not?
And since when has it been a requirement for a club’s CEO to hold a presser
– to tell the support about transfer dealings?
Sweet Sixteen Little Points ahead in January. And sevco have still to play – away at Dundee tonight.
Whatever happens tonight, we will still be in double figured points ahead of them all come the morning.
Dundee, please do us a favour and send sevco back to Glasgow tonight in a quandary!
He He, He He, He He, He He, Dundee…
He He, He He, He He, He He, Dundee…
The Bears they could’nae handle Dens…
And dropped another two…
He He He, He He,He He – Dundee !!!!
