On a personal level a move to Los Angeles FC seems to be an absolute dream transfer, for Odin Thiago Holm it is the chance to relaunch a career that has stalled over the last 18 months.
After a couple of very brief cameo appearances off the bench at the start of the season he dropped out the matchday squad entirely as soon as Arne Engels and Luke McCowan were signed.
Forcing your way into the Celtic midfield is a huge task, after months without any matches to break up the training schedules the chances would be even slimmer with the MLS offering a glamorous escape route.

On Monday night the LAFC website announced:
LAFC has acquired midfielder Odin Thiago Holm on loan from Scottish Premier League club Celtic F.C. through 2025. Holm will occupy an International Roster Slot and will be added to the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P1 Visa.
Holm is the fourth of the infamous summer 2023 signings to move out on loan, joining Marco Tilio, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Gus Lagerbielke out of sight with little prospect of starring at Celtic.
With a contract running until May 2028 his Celtic days aren’t completely over with but finding form for LAFC should open the door to a permanent move for the Norwegian u-21 internationalist.
Holm joins Stephen Welsh in moving out on loan from Celtic this month with others such as Luis Palma also expected to exit as Brendan Rodgers continues to shape the squad.
