Brendan Rodgers has made three changes to the Celtic side that beat St Johnstone on Sunday for today’s Glasgow Derby.
Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor and Kyogo Furuhashi come into the side with Alex Valle, Arne Engels and Adam Idah dropping to the bench.
The team is mainly as expected with Paulo Bernardo starting ahead of Arne Engels the biggest decision made by Rodgers.
With a 14 point lead in the SPFL Premiership over today’s opponents much of the significance has been taken from the match although Celtic will be out to extend their domination of the fixture.
The hoops have lost only one SPFL meeting between the clubs since August 2021 with that match a dead rubber after the title had been decided.
Don Robertson will referee the fixture for the third time with Nick Walsh on VAR duty.
CELTIC: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Bernardo, Hatate; Kuhn, Kyogo, Maeda

No real surprise in either teams line up.
Rodgers opting for experience at that shithole is of no real surprise, and only time will tell if the correct call has been made by himself?
So the same midfield 3 as the league cup final today, and hopefully we see a far higher level of performance, especially from calmac and Hatate?
The great thing about this current Celtic team, is Rodgers has options to change things around, if the original plan shouldn’t be working?
Hopefully that isn’t the case today, and it’s a case of increasing our dominance over the scum
Trusty out? Mistake me thinks.
Lawwell and Nicholson up there supping from the Loving Cup?
Kiss my fockin Fenian arse!!
A mMinutes Silence for Respect.
And then it is straight into
“The Billy Boys”,
“Fock Bobby Sands, He’s Deed”.
They REALLY ARE Animals!
Our best mid-field is Captain, Engels and Hatate.
But the manager rarely plays it!
Half-time report…
We’re not at the races…
This isn’t a St. Johnstone or a Motherwell team sitting back and soaking up pressure…and allowing us to do our thing.
They are totally in our faces…forcing us into suicide passes…and we can’t cope .
Scales and Hatate are giving me the shudders with their passing…and Kuhn and Daizen are non-existent.
We need to hope that BR knows how to change it…..’cos it ain’t working.
100% agree TN – we can’t keep on saying we never turned up against them or we didn’t play well. Both cup final and now today – need changes in midfield and a bit more urgency in our passing and movement especially in the final third.
They have us sussed…We have no plan B…and for a team who rely on passing.. our passing is woeful…feckin’ woeful…Caught in possession far too often…Absolute shambles of a performance…and we deserve nothing from the game.Oh and as a former winger…our two were disgraceful.
2-0 them – absolutely disgraceful performance from Celtic so far. 23 minutes plus stoppage time to go to shut this lot up.
Lose our other two sevco League games and win all the other games and we’ll still win the League.
Hope sevco realise this!
Scales and Hatate should never put on a jersey again. Why can’t Rogers see it?
2 nil down and Carter-Vickers and Scales are having a ” passing” part between themselves.
How many times have people said ” if Celtic turn up…” and how many time have they failed to?
BR has to take flak here….I knew they would play a high line and be in our faces…and we can’t deal with that…so why did we persevere with that..??..Surely we had to find another way..?
We just didn’t turn up today: hugely disappointing, and no fight.
We’ll certainly drop more points,
but can’t see sevco stringing together a winning run to season end?
BR didn’t earn his pay today – but a Treble should still be doable.
And, sevco could yet go on to to lose at Hibs on Sunday…
My gripe is…we play EVERY game the same way and Sevco have sussed this..so I would have moved the mid- field forward..and played over the top balls from the back for our speed merchants to chase..The slow build up played right into their hands…Over to you BR.
Two significant statistics from the game;
– we had 60% of possession
– we had 1 shot on target, yet sevco had 9 shots on target !
They scored their killer, second goal just 2 minutes after our 3 subs came on.
So, I was expecting BR to then do something radical,
and tweak the formation and/or tactics, as he had nothing else to lose.
I thought that enforced, in-game tweaking to grind out a result
is also what an elite manager is capable of…?
Not a major worry domestically – this season – but a wake up call re: Europe aspirations?
