Rohit Saggi from Norway will referee Wednesday’s match between Celtic and YB Bern, it will be his third ever Champions League match.
Having a Scandinavian in charge of a match between the Scottish and Swiss champions makes sense although with the Norwegian league running through the calendar year Saggi hasn’t taken charge of a match since December 8 when Haugesund beat Moss 2-0.
Just like players, match officials need their sharpness, after six weeks without a game Celtic Park on Wednesday night will be a demanding arena.
