The special powers of Ibrox and playing in matches with SFA appointed referees has quickly dawned on Hamza Igamane.

A couple of goals in the SPFL Premiership created the inevitable headlines that he would be attracting offers of Dembele Dollars and we all know how that story ended for Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian quickly discovered the dark arts that are tolerated in a blue shirt, he was sent off six times in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 SPFL seasons but strangely never received another red card in his two final seasons at Ibrox.

Morelos could kick out, head butt and attack the genitals of opponents without punishment with John Beaton permitting all three during the December 2018 Glasgow Derby.

Feigning injury was another favourite, yesterday against St Johnstone Igamane showed just how poor he is at simulation when he lashed out Barry Douglas.

Not content with knocking his opponent to the ground the Moroccan Messi briefly hovered over Douglas with his knees and feet striking the St Johnstone defender.

When Douglas got up Igamane decided to hit the deck over some unknown contact, rolling around so much that he got himself off the pitch!

Ross Hardie refereed yesterday’s match, the official that was coaching Tom Lawrence not to put in a tackle against Ross County earlier in the season.

Of course the incident didn’t survive the cut on Sportscene, efforts are being raised to pretend that half of the clubs in the EPL are wanting to sign Igamane.

Meanwhile the race to sign Cyriel Dessers appears to have stalled with no interest in an expensive 30-year-old that can’t get a starting place in one of the poorest leagues in Europe.

What puzzles me is….VAR obviously looked at that, would have seen it was simulation, so why aren’t refs booking players who are trying to con them and being utterly unsportsmanlike ?
Unsportsmanlike behaviour is a bookable offence, or at least it used to be.

Editor: VAR doesn’t get involved in bookings but referee Ross Hardie watched it in full and took no action.

Come on u He plays for the rangers. That was practically a double somersault with pike. Surprised their bench didn’t hold up score cards.

sevco players can’t even cheat very well!

I’d like to think that if a Celtic player ever did that,

either the captain or the manager would immediately sort them out?

[Engels can be a wee bit dramatic, but he’s an absolute amateur compared to Igamane.]

I’d guess Clement never had a go at Igamane after the game?

I think it’s safe to say that Igamane is a big fan of the odd ” Scooby snack” just like Alfoodo is ? I will be kind and refer to the current Ibrox player as ‘ chunky ‘ ….
