In an early candidate for Story of the Year The Rangers News has claimed that two Serie A sides are showing interest in taking Rabbi Matondo to Serie A!
With the involvement of top level agents nothing can be completely ruled out but after starting just three matches for Phil Clement’s serial losers this season it is some stretch to imagine the winger making any kind of impact in Italian football.
There is of course an absolute desperation at Ibrox to cut costs with the wages that Matondo is collecting providing virtually nothing in return.
Schalke picked up a fee of £3m in the summer of 2022 for getting rid of the Welshman, he didn’t come to Ibrox for a pay cut on the lucrative Bundesliga deal that he had signed as a £9m arrival in 2019.
Since his switch to Ibrox Matondo has started 26 matches under three different manager with little sign that that is about to improve.
Despite that grim record Mark Hendry of Rangers News was able to reveal some good news:
Rangers News can now exclusively reveal that the club are finally willing to sanction a loan switch for the 24-year-old after Norwich City missed out on Matondo last summer.
RNÂ understands two clubs in Serie A are already in the queue and showing interest in the form of Torino and Lecce.
The race for Matondo seems as genuine as Cagliari and St Etienne battling it out to sign Cyriel Dessers.
After selling five first team players for £810,000 since 30 June 2024 every club is aware of the financial issues at Ibrox, it is hard to see any club paying a transfer fee for Clement’s flops and going anywhere near their current salaries.

Lol don’t forget about the clause when he is sold on again when he belongs to another club, easy money for sevco,it’s a win win for them.
Way back in September Kojak told us that we would see the best of his team from October/November onwards, that’s a BELTER,I’m sure our points advantage has doubled since then.
So if this is his team improving and people seeing the best of his team,I wouldn’t like to see them hitting a bad patch.
Ah Ha Ha HA! I am still laughing at that.
The Fockin Proddy Wankers!
Sevco Fleece Lecce then !
