Hibs could have the backing of upto 7,000 fans at their Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park on March 9.

SFA rules entitle the away club to 20% of the tickets but they are liable to pay for all tickets requested.

An allocation of 12,000 would be subject to Police approval but the Hibs board have committed to 7,000 tickets and are urging fans to back up their ambitions by snapping up tickets.

There were 7,000 away fans at the Glasgow Derby in May 2018 but since then the biggest away supports have all been at European matches where 5%, a total of 3,000 tickets are given to away fans.

We can confirm that we will now receive an away allocation of up to 7,000 tickets for the match at Celtic Park.

After long discussions, and being referred to the SFA Handbook, which states “the Away Club shall be responsible for payment to the Home Club for all tickets delivered to the Away Club for sale to supporters of the Away Club”.

We continued to push for the larger allocation, knowing the financial risk to Hibernian FC, and accepted circa 7,000 away tickets understanding the demand from our supporters.

It goes without saying that our supporters have played a vital part in our fantastic run of form, and we want to see as many Hibees as possible supporting the team at Celtic Park!

Tickets are priced at £25 for adults with a £3 discount for restricted views, with the match being shown live on Premier Sports it will take a big effort to sell that allocation.

Hibs are at home to Hearts on Sunday, if they win that match it will certainly boost ticket sales.

Celtic’s 52,000 Season Ticket holders are assured of a ticket but there will be very limited additional tickets available to home fans.

Celtic host the third Glasgow Derby of the season  in the SPFL on March 16 with ticket details for that match still to be announced.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Would be nice if both teams got to wear their home kits as there’s absolutely no f**kin reason not to do so…

Shame it’s The battle o’ The Greens a week on Sunday as it’d have made for a pure fab final !

It’s all very well making such a “good will” gesture, but as a fan that’s been on the Season Ticket waiting list for over 4 years and who constantly struggles to beg and borrow Tickets from pals that do have Season Tickets but sometimes can’t go, it does cheese me off when my chances of securing a ticket are made even more difficult by my own Club. Hopefully, I might get my own Season Ticket next August…miracles might happen (actually I ought to say a prayer to St Anthony – my mother swears by him!) and this won’t upset me as much!
