Losing at home to Queens Park is unacceptable according to Phil Clement but not a resignation matter.
Against a mid-table Championship at home in the Scottish Cup today’s cup tie was expected to be a formality.
Almost all of the star names were on the pitch as Clement made five changes but was unable to find a way past Callum Ferrie.
The usual stats about shots at goal, shots on target and having an exciting young team were trotted out.
When confronted by the demands of Stevie Clifford to resign Clement claimed that they didn’t want him sacked three hours earlier.
Asked if he feels his Rangers job is now under threat, Clement replied:
It’s happened in the past. We know it’s a rebuild. I’m focused on this game and the next game. I don’t think you can ask much more than to get 30 chances. It’s nothing to do with tactics or whatever, it’s about the quality of the moment. That’s what we missed today.
So, yes I’m confident about that. Everybody knows how hard we are working together. Last week, everybody was saying that the team was taking great steps and growing, we get eighth position in the Europa League.
It’s not because you lose a game where you normally win 99 times out of 100 that things change about the way things are working. If you do that then you are only living in emotions and there will never be stability in this game.
On February 9 the domestic season is over for Clement, finishing in the top eight of the Europa League and the evolution/development of Jefte, Hamza Igamane and Nicky Raskin won’t be enough to save the Belgian Beale.
Seb Drozd scored the golden goal in the 69th minute with Ferrie saving a stoppage time penalty from James Tavernier who admitted that the defeat was disappointing.
Fan media has been working hard to quell the anger of supporters in recent times but there is no way that they can deflect away from today’s result with Celtic closing in on Title 55 and a sixth treble since 2017.

TAXI!!!!!!!!
BYE BYE.
Asleep clement is in for some inclement weather that will rudely awaken him from his slumber very soon , wart and barry the biatch are waiting in the wings to take over as soon as he gets his jotters !! and that will before the SB ‘s go up for renewal , brin back slippy !!! chortle !!
The tribute act will soon have to change the anthem that sounds out when they walk onto the Ibroxland pitch . No more ‘ simply the best ‘ , but it should be Mr Zimmerman’s ‘ tangled up in blue ! ‘
5 minutes injury time became 8 touching 9,how come?
Never a penalty, quite surprised they never let him take it again until he scored it,with sevco then going on to win the game.
The Village idiot was praising him only last week about his heroics in Europe,no doubt he will be back to wanting him sacked.
As for people to blame today Collum and the SFA I dare say will come back into focus, after all they need someone to blame.
Now think back to the Cup final a couple of months back, screaming (pardon the pun) blue murder for a penalty and that they would have gone on to win the game had they got it,there is your proof there they had not been guaranteed scoring it,and yet everybody and their granny got the blame for losing that game.
Clement isn’t facing a press corp but a group of angry fans with press passes. You can hear it in their voices.
Old tactic but one the officials haven’t had to use in a while. Injury time is defined as -until Sevco score or get a penalty. The MIB did their job.
BBC Scotland was utterly BEAUTIFUL on the radio tonight after I’d stumbled across the result…
SUPER SPIDERS GO BALLISTIC SEVCO ARE ATROCIOUS !
