It’s not just Kris Boyd and Aiden McGeady that are upset by scoring return to Celtic of Jota.
Gary Keown of the Daily Mail reckons that his Fir Park tears will make the winger a contender for the Pass the Sickbag award for 2025.
Everyone has different levels of emotions, some might prefer to keep a brave face on regardless of the circumstances, clearly Celtic’s returning Superstar from Portugal isn’t made of the same stuff.
After 18 months in the footballing wilderness, failing to find an audience and interaction at Al Ittihad and Rennes circumstances threw up the opportunity to return to Celtic.
The fans that worshipped him were still there at Fir Park last week, after 65 minutes Jota replaced Nicolas Kuhn, in the 94th minute he scored Celtic’s third goal, just his third goal since leaving Celtic in July 2023.
After celebrating, some tears flowed, they were quickly wiped away as the ‘new’ signing led the cheers in front of the Celtic support almost as if the previous 18 months hadn’t happened.
Having a go at departing Aberdeen forward Duk in the Daily Mail, Keown couldn’t resist a dig at Jota:
Just a week or so after his tears on the park at Motherwell after scoring on his return for Celtic, Portuguese winger Jota has already been shunted out of the running for the 2025 Pass The Sickbag award.
Duk really has milked it with his heartfelt thanks to Aberdeen after going AWOL at the start of the season then getting a transfer last week.
Apart from being Portuguese there aren’t really any comparisons to Jota.
Jota will be very well off financially from his year in Saudi Arabia even if it completely stalled his football career.
With that in mind and a well paid five and a half year contract at Celtic it is possible to see why he opted to return, and shed a tear or two at recapturing something that he felt he would never experience again.
As usual Keown doesn’t hide where his loyalties lie,he will say anything and write anything to be negative about Celtic, don’t mind his tripe keep it up finds it really hard to hide his hatred and envy of Celtic, send him Sickbowl
Well said Charlie.
And make sure The F***in Sickbowl if fuckin full to the brim and shower the Orange Bastard in the spew !
Who buys the daily mail anyway?
Brexit-voting gammons who probably like Trump too.
He’s only salty because he follows a club that seldom sees players weep with joy but regularly has fans weeping with despair.
And because he’s a fud.
Fud.
What I find most strange about journalists like Keown and his ilk.is that they can find the time and words to spend on an article like this.which is let’s face it terribly unimportant and insignificant to most supporters yet give them a world leading corruption scandal that everyone should be informed of and what do we get virtually nothing.I blame the schools.
It will be Keown(Mckeown??)who will be needing a sick bag come May.What a bitter angry twisted man.Latin people are emotional,it’s who they are. These bigots have one emotion, permanent anger.Always raging about something, never smiling.Sod him.Jota is just getting started,Keown will need an anti sickness Jag time he’s finished.
Every copy of that tax dodging Tory shitrag he works for should come with a free sickbag. I don’t think anyone will shed any tears for him if he’s in the next round of redundancies there.
Daily fail, news & reporter, really is there any such a thing as news from this Rag. Wouldn’t even use that paper as bedding for my kids guinea pigs. His opinion about Jota is irrelevant!
Focus on what they do best, promoting the so called royals, subservient sycophants !
Or how about Gaza ” miming ” the flute…or Roberts conducting the hate filled choir…Now there’s sick bag material for you…So feck right off Keown…and your right wing trashy rag.
Gary Brown is an arse. Jota has been through hell in the last 18 months and he is relieved and delighted to be back at Celtic. If the relieve of pent up emotions are seen by Keown as worthy of the pass the sick bag award, then he qualifies for the worst journalist of the year award.
