Paddy Stewart failed to bring in a single transfer fee during the January transfer window.

Alex Lowry was paid off to join Wycombe Wanderers, a few starlets were sent out on loan with Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell also taken out on loan with the bulk of their wages still coming from Ibrox.

Both players plus Jose Cifuentes and Ben Davies will be back in the summer to see out their contracts.

With losses expected to be over £20m this season Stewart was tasked with applying austerity but January passed by with minimal activity, the only arrival was Rafael Fernandes, a project defender with less than 20 senior appearances on his CV.

During the summer some significant cuts to the wage bill was made with Connor Goldson, Todd Cantwell, Sam Lammers, Scott Wright and Robbie McCrorie.

Similar surgery was expected in January but it seems that there were NO OFFERS to sign any of Clement’s.

Every effort was made to sell Cyriel Dessers but despite their best efforts the Nigerian striker remains on the Ibrox payroll.

The Sun reports:

The agent told Belgian outlet VoetbalNieuws: “There is still a lot of probing but clubs are pushing much less.

“Look at Cyriel Dessers – he had ten offers but the market is much more difficult at that time.

“Many wanted to loan him but Rangers only wanted to sell. And that is not ideal for the player’s focus.”

Tom Lawrence and Leon Balogun will be out of contract at the end of this season, Vaclav Cerny’s loan will expire with the club committed to paying £4m to signing Oscar Cortes.

Its like being in a Cancer Research shop and looking through the array of new stuff donated from shops that obviously couldn’t sell it first time round to their own customers….you glance at it, and think that might be useful, but inevitably you know your wasting your cash so put it back on the shelf.
Maybe they should get Dessers n co to stand in one of their shops wi a price sticker on them.

Endless lies about who was gonna buy their players and who they were going after

Of course this only comes to light AFTER the window is shut .

The ibrox ST’s might be a tougher sell this time: significantly higher prices,

yet more of the same level of football next season – and beyond?

…and who knows, possibly with the same, unpopular manager?

The only certainty at ibrox is that this summer transfer window is going to be like

    January – if not worse?
