Chris Sutton has taken a light hearted jibe at how the media cheerleaders have merged with the Ibrox management team.
From Go Radio, BBC Scotland and Sky Sports the interim team was recruited with the announcement made within 24 hours of Phil Clement being sacked.
The swiftness of the movement left a few media outlets short-staffed, Sutton stepped up to replace Neil McCann on Sky duties on Wednesday night with BBC Scotland turning to nonentities like Cammy Bell and Richard Foster to churn out the same old gushing script.
Sutton is unlikely to get a similar call from Celtic, in the Daily Record he shared his thoughts on the Barrie Revolution!
I did find it quite interesting Ferguson was hailed as a managerial genius for hooking Clinton Nsiala after less than half an hour – when Clement got absolutely battered for doing the same with Bailey Rice a few weeks ago.
It turned out they were both right. Clement is a goner though and it’s Ferguson left carrying the can until the end of the season. But what then? Rangers have raided the media but they have got so many Rangers cheerleaders in the dugout they should have taken pom poms to Rugby Park the other night.
Sutton added:
This is a team that 12 months ago had the chance to go five points clear at the top but they bottled it against Motherwell. They’ve blown it numerous times since. Clement went to pieces under the intensity of life at one of Glasgow’s big two, but there’s no doubt his players let him down too.
The Revolution rolls into Ibrox tomorrow to welcome Motherwell on the anniversary of when the wheels fell off for Clement.
After two introduction fixtures the real tests begin for Ferguson with two clashes against Fenerbahce followed by a trip to the home of Scotland’s Most Successful Club.

It’s almost lunchtime on Friday, the 28th of February.
There is no sign of the SFA’s KMI report for matches which took place on the 21st & 22nd of February. It’s normally published within two to four days of the the matches having taken place.
Is Mr. Collum unwell, or is there a difficulty in explaining the actions of the VAR in the Hibs-Celtic game, which took place on the 21st?
See Scottish football? See the SFA? See ‘honest mistakes’?
It’s such a pity big Sutton said nothing during his stint as co commentator in the Kilmarnock v the tribute act match on Wednesday night . The old marching season ditty – ‘the Billy Boys ‘ was being sung at high volume ,being broadcast by the SS on national TV ,yet big Sutton never uttered a single syllable in condemnation or disgust . Then again , maybe his bosses at Sky Sports whispered in his shell like .,to keep shtuum …..as not to upset Mrs Ferguson’s husband’s return ,and all that ! Who knows …..
