Jota starts his first Celtic match since the 2023 Scottish Cup Final when he lines up against Dundee in a rearranged SPFL match.

Brendan Rodgers makes three changes to the side that started away to Motherwell but it is a starting place for the Superstar from Portugal that catches the eye.

With Daizen Maeda suspended for next week’s match against Bayern Munich Rodgers is taking the opportunity to accelerate Jota’s match fitness after six months on the sidelines at Rennes.

Alistair Johnston replaces Tony Ralston in defence with Arne Engels taking over from Luke McCowan in midfield with a win putting Celtic 13 points clear at the top of the SPFL with 13 matches left to play.

The two sides met last month at Dens Park in a bizarre 3-3 draw in which the Celtic defence weren’t at their best.

Asked at Tuesday’s media conference about that match Rodgers promised a much different approach with an emphasis on firmer defensive work.

Despite that result which was followed by a Scottish Cup win over Dundee United, Tony Docherty’s side slipped to 10th place in the SPFL following Saturday’s 6-0 defeat from Hearts.

CELTIC: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; McGregor, Engels, Hatate; Jota, Idah, Maeda

SUBS: Sinisalo, Scales, Kuhn, Yang, McCowan, Schlupp, Kenny, Bernardo, Ralston

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Well, I suppose we will have to put up with Norwiches fourth choice centre forward, Brendan talked about knowing the reasons for Kyogo wanting to leave but didn’t say what they were. I think that it is fairly obvious that yogo went because he could notplay as our manager thought he should. He could not really fit into Brendan’s style. As a result we have lost a player who can be mentioned alongside Larson, Sutton and Hartson. Rodgers thinks he is a footballing genius. He is n ot. Kyogo is though and we are a much poorer side as a rtesult.
