After a nightmare performance against Queens Park, when the referee turns saviour with the award of a penalty who better to step up than the club captain?
The Hall of Famer approaching his 500th club appearance, a man with three winners medals to his name while watching Celtic rack up treble after treble.
In December James Tavernier watched Celtic lift their 119th trophy, becoming the most successful club in the history of Scottish football.
Afterwards he was disappointed.
Yesterday, trailing 1-0 at home to Queens Park in the 95th minute Tav stepped up to do Tav things.
Callum Ferrie saved his penalty and it was time to dig out that all so familiar script for the disappointed Hall of Famer.

Those bears that aren’t members of the Subway Loyal weren’t impressed, there was no sympathy for their gallant leader as they face up to three months of friendlies as opposition fans taunt them about Queens Park.
Meanwhile plans to announce details of Tavernier’s August Testimonial Match have been put on the back burner.

The real problem is trying to attract a half-decent, experienced manager to get a tune
out of a squad of losers – and especially when there is no transfer budget.
