Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Jeffrey Schlupp on loan from Crystal Palace.

The 32-year-old has made 14 appearances across all competitions this season but is a medical away from joining Celtic on loan.

Alex Valle’s recall by Barcelona has letf Celtic short at left-back with Schlupp able to play in any position along the left.

Celtic had been hoping to strike a deal to bring in Kieran Tierney on loan but with that option fading Schlupp appears to offer cover for Greg Taylor and other positions.

Last week Celtic signed Jota from Rennes with Schlupp the second signing of this transfer window.

A replacement for Kyogo has still to be identified but with less than four hours until the transfer window closes that is looking less likely.

There doesn’t appear to be any exits from Celtic today in addition to Luis Palma, Stephen Welsh, Odin Thiago Holm and Alexandro Bernabei who moved out earlier in the window.

Schlupp was an unused substitute for Crystal Palace in their 2-0 win away to Manchester United while Celtic were winning 3-1 away to Motherwell.

WOW…Just what we were waiting for…32 year old who can’t get a game for CP…Followed up possibly by veteran Ings…WAY TO GO CELTIC.

Underwhelmed would be an appropriate comment here. My granny is waiting for a last minute call for the centre forward role. What a tight-fisted board we have

Oh dear, and we laugh everyday on here at sevco having signed no players,at least they have a good reason for this they are SKINTO FC.
We have no reasons not sign anyone apparently we are loaded,so they say, remember you can’t take it with you .

We have no problem getting player’s to leave, it is just the signing of player’s our board don’t like. Get players out the door first before we think about getting players in. It happens every transfer window!!

Where in the fuck is that midfield ENFORCER…

We have Sevco rocking up mid March as well !

  • The Joker says:

So the big multi-million pound transfer fees never took off at sevco after all that double bluff about the Morrocan Messi and the Roberto Carlis stuntman.

Celtic have only a handful of players who can run with the ball, Jota. Maeda, Kuhn, Idah and possibly Bernardo. When they do it is amazing but the rest are quite simply lazy hidden by the ridiculous 6 yard passing game.

When Ronny Deila came he said the players were so unfit under Lennon’s regime and and I believe the players simply downed tools and didn’t try for him.

We still have the same coaches!

We were beaten, skelped even, by Sevco simply because they have players who will take the ball forward at every opportunity. I remember Carter-Vickers and Scales ? passing the ball between them for ages when we were 3 nil down. Go figure and how Rodgers can watch that and not do something about it beggars belief.

Our midfield is a joke and we do need a enforcer. Some claim when Bertie Auld was signed it was the end of a very talented team getting bullied. The rest is history.
