Vaclav Cerny has described the reaction to his behaviour at Celtic Park as absurd.
Straight after the final goal of the match the on loan winger ran in front of Celtic fans spraying them with the content of a water bottle.
Police Scotland and the SFA are both reported to be looking into the incident but more than two days after the match no firm action has been taken.
Neither club has directly referenced the incident while the SPFL have also remained silent on the issue.
With an international break underway the Daily Record has turned to the Czech Republic to pick up on the story.
And the 27-year-old was quizzed on the incident by media Prague outlet iSport Blesk ahead of that double header and intimated to them that it was unintentional and that it was a combination of the euphoria and the fans being in close proximity.
Cerny was coy when asked about and it said: “I don’t want to say too much, I can’t. I find it a bit absurd.
“The stands are so close, to have open water… I didn’t even know what was happening at that moment. I just ran. It’s a derby.”
Cerny could still face the beaks for getting involved with supporters under the SFA rules – and could cop a ban of anything from two to eight games.
Hampden chiefs are under pressure from Police to make sure players don’t get involved with punters in the white hot Old Firm environment.
What ticket allocation should away fans get to the Glasgow Derby?
None- the only option

700- token only

2,400- Sunday was great

If Cerny doesn’t know what he was doing then there are serious problems for the football authorities to deal with.
It is widely reported that Police Scotland visit both sets of players in the lead up to the Glasgow Derby, emphasising the need for good behaviour that doesn’t incite supporters.
Cerny could have sprayed his management team and others in the dug out or his celebrating team-mates without any problem, for his own reasons he decided to spray Celtic fans in the stand.
Brotherly love will play a part in the outcome…it usually does.
In any other country, he would be punished…but in this bigoted wee country the rules are different…Maybe Nimmo Smith will be asked to look at the incident.
No water advantage was gained by his actions…
But it was the Celtic players that were PISH and not the supporters…
Maybe he should have sprayed the water on the back of Brendan’s head as he was wet behind the ears anyway that night !
“for his own reasons he decided to spray Celtic fans in the stand.”
Yeah, and then retreat into the dugout, sniggering away like a moronic child.
Do you think The ragers actively seek out these types of player’s /people with questionable characters- Sterling being another- or do they try and convert the weak minded with their warped views and hatred that seems to be in with the brickwork over Govan way.
A squirrel story if ever there was one,we got our arse skelped by a klub in total turmoil, not a penny to their name, doing more TAPPING than a blind man’s stick and a manager that can’t count to 10 and thinks there is only 14 letters in the alphabet, that’s a disgrace.
As long as bloggers keep going back to this incident the board the manager and players get an easy ride, but not to worry because there is plenty of money to be made by winning the TREBLE.
Here’s a final thought for you all,Liverpool thought they had it all this season, the QUADRUPLE was on,and their claim to fame for the season the league title what a come down,we need to be careful thinking the TREBLE is in the bag.
Two separate issues Joker…imo. Yes we need to react to defeat…No problem with that …I’m as pissed off as you with performance and scoreline…and I agree that all this Treble talk is premature…But to ignore Celtic staff being bottled…Celtic player being attacked…Glass all over goalkeeper’s area….and now supporters being soaked by an idiot…is wrong …There’s surely room for both to be highlighted…??
Does any sensible person truly believe that this guy will get punished I for one don’t why you may ask?simple he plays for a team that a governing football body are scared of it’s been proved in the past and will again. Its a bit like the Rikki Fulton sketch wae Gérard Kelly only this time recruiting a player he’s asked how much do you hate Celtic and we’ll train you if don’t and the sfa will back us on it ?
You do know our CEO ‘Lucan’ has disappeared off the face of the earth – The fuckin UNIVERSE actually !
The Sterling one also interests me .
Has someone put that on his Instagram for a so called laugh as I fail to see why he would feel the need to do it himself .
Seems to me he has no reason to see us as nothing other than just another football club and team that he’s playing .
Where is this mind set coming from to have Cerny and Stering behaving this way (other than the obvious)
Regardless of the source it is IMO an unhealthy influence that will only get worse and lead to a serious injury to one of our players .
Am i alone in thinking that this ” Absurd ” word was picked for him by sevco’s advisors , to trivialize the incident which i and many more view very seriously , i can honestly say if anyone sprayed water or any liquid on me that the laying on of hands would immediately take place and i mean that sincerely , wild fucking horses wouldn’t drag me away , i’d have cleared that seat in a blink of an eye for that reason that sly cunt was a lucky boy he didn’t soak the wrong person that day , because Absurd would have taken on a whole new meaning , get the punk done by the beaks and gone from scottish football
He should be thankful he’s not up in front of a judge for blessing himself..
That’s THUG mentality wee Barry has forced upon the sevco players but that can only take them so far, when the FAKEOVER is no more ADMINISTRATION will be back for a special guest star appearance, and all the THUG action will be for f**k all.
Their Allies, will protect them as usual
Remember all the bottle incidents coins hitting Celtic players and backrooom
Staff even from main stand.
Believe it or not “ Some Celtic fans will sit
down and cheer sfa mob this week.
Turns my gut.. big Time.
When considering how absurd this event is I always find the best way to look at these things is objectively. Now if you can come to an outcome using the “Imagine Lenny” formula then that is what should be the outcome. So imagine Lenny did what Cerny did, I reckon he would have been cuffed and carted by the Peelers and no doubt in front of a judge on Monday for a breach charge. Then hauled to Hampden for a pre-determined 8 match ban. Compare and contrast how absurd this is when the Peelers and SFA want the other side to be the bad guy because they are shit scared of the hoardes of Cesspit.
Well, when our Board refuses to complain about ANYTHING,
then it’s no wonder sevco can keep pushing the boundaries.
Cerny and Sterling should have been put in front of the media
immediately after the match to apologise.
The Daily Record are going with the Celtic fans could drive Cerny out of Scotland angle this morning
They (Celtic supporters) are certainly trying to drive The Scummy Daily Record outta Scotland Harold…
Actually trying to drive them outta this world and existence –
It’s definitely happening for sure !
He unintentionally picked up the bottle, he unintentionally pointed it at the crowd, he unintentionally ran along the side of the crowd then unintentionally squeezed the bottle.
Maybe he should be unintentionally jailed.
Perhaps a Celtic supporter should shower him with a cupful of pish or vomit spew at Liebrox…
After all these things are allowed in Glasgow football stadiums – Are they not ?
There is a big hole in the road on Kerrydale Street and they are all more likely to be looking into that!
