When it comes to football presentation you don’t get duller than BBC Scotland.
Steven Thompson, a man with no obvious character or presentation skills is in the chair, with Gary Lineker quitting the real BBC at the end of this season there was never any suggestion that big Tommo was a candidate to take over from the broadcasting legend.
With Thompson showing all of the enthusiasm normally reserved for a visit to the dentist Sportscene is a hard watch, not helped by the inclusion of Dull and Duller in the form of Steven Naismith and Stuart Kettlewell.
The former Motherwell boss does at least have victories over both of the major Glasgow clubs on his CV, just over a year ago he ended the Clement Revolution! With a 2-1 win at Ibrox.
As Ross County boss his side won a League Cup tie at Celtic Park, in terms of media work he is unlikely to receive a phone call from Sky Sports or TNT Sport anytime soon.
As a player and manager there was only ever one fixture than motivated wee Naisy- and it wasn’t visits to the away dressing room at Ibrox.
Following in the tradition of Robbie Neilson, Naismith never won a single match against the Ibrox Tribute Act, Daniel Stendel, pre Lockdown was the last Hearts manager to achieve that elusive victory.
Without doubt the talent pool of Scottish football pundits is shallow, other than the tired old failed managers the BBC’s idea of inclusion would be inviting Kenny Macintyre, Tom English or Alasdair hipster Lamont on to Sportscene to share their scripts.

Thompson can’t even read an Auto Cue. Cardboard doesn’t begin to describe his delivery. The Cardboard Cut Outs of Stevie G have more personality! And brace yourself for the emerging SMSM wholeheartedly backed Media talent of Scott Arfield. A former RFC player who fits the BBC MO whose true colours were blatantly obvious in that he refused to participate in his Canada team’s pre match huddles as huddles were a Celtic thing! He’s obviously an impartial balanced commentator!
Three blue noses inside a blue studio …all accomplished by using our money ! Just think of the biased attitudes broadcast if the tribute act was in contention to win the league or cups ?
Its high time someone made a list and forwarded it to BBC impartiality head office in London. Its utterly infeasible that their choices are just random.
BBC..sorry EBC HQ would just double down on it and increase their budget.
The EBC is a UNIONIST mouthpiece. It’s part of the so called UK Establishment.
They rely on the Huns being the rear guard against Scottish Independence and sticking it to those pesky anti Monarchist Fenian, Kaffliky types.
.
More life in a funeral parlour than that BBC Scotland studio.
BBC Sportscene, complete with wooden presentation from wooden presenters and pundits has one redeeming factor, the off button.
Very very poor indeed.
Their are the most unbalanced panel on any TV station in world, the EBTC combination of BBC EBT, gives you a panel of the biggest W ?? S on TV
Thompson = Ex Sevco Hun…
Naismith = Ex Sevco Hun (and a very honest one at that)…
Kettlewell = Alleged Sevco fan – Perhaps The High Ranking Cops that harass The Green Brigade are called Kettle Well too !
Was anyone else’s eyes cock eyed with the Sportscene visual pictures last night or was it just me…
Hi-Bees might beat them on Saturday – If they’re not thwarted the way that poor Dundee were by Cheats with Whistles, Flags and Monitors !
