Three weeks after the Daily Record broke the WORLD EXCLUSIVE news of the San Francisco 49ers taking control at Ibrox a price tag has been put on the deal.

According to 49ers & EPL News 24/7 the deal will cost $210-220 which comes in at around £165m.

It is unclear whether that is for 100% of the shares or just the 51% that Sky Sports News revealed had agreed in principle to the buy-out.

For that you get a club that has never made a profit in its 12 years of trading, is expected to lose close to £30m this season with contracts for James Tavernier, Jack Butland, Ben Davies, Kieran Dowell, Jose Cifuentes, Cyriel Dessers, Danilo and Rabbi Matondo running until at least May 2026.

It appears that some bears failed to read the account bio which references #sarcasmisart and #insidescoops

Despite the media hysteria over the fakeover no-one has yet asked Douglas Park for his thoughts on the deal instigated from South Africa.

It would require the agreement of the five biggest shareholders for any outside party to gain 51% of the shares in the club.

Chris Jack of the Rangers Review reports:

The Rangers Review understands the multi-million-pound transaction is on course to be completed by the end of May as high-level negotiations continue behind the scenes.

Several other key figures will sell a percentage of their stock to ensure the American consortium have a controlling interest of 51 per cent in Rangers. It is believed at least two appointments will be made to the Ibrox board once the transfer of power has been finalised.

It is understood that the main players in the deal received the first formal proposals for their consideration at the start of the week. The main paperwork has not yet been finalised but initial documents are now under review. A source has told the Rangers Review that discussions are progressing and it is likely to be signed and sealed within the next couple of months.

The article is heavy on business jargon and light on detail, with the exciting good news quickly followed by kicking the timeline down the road.

Being completed by the end of May gives paranoid bears plenty of time to worry over next season’s manager and squad of Galacticos and rules out working starting on a 70,000 capacity super stadium until the summer of 2026.

    £165M?!

Well the SMSM did ‘value’ Morelos at £40M at one point…

The RIFC book value is c.£25M.

It can’t be valued as a multiple of earnings, because it’s never made a profit.

    Even £25M would be generous.

Just got to keep the BS flowing until ST’s are sold? ?

I posted earlier a figure of between £200-300 million to purchase the the new klub, buy new players and to bring in their own management team as well as stadium improvements.
So how long before they see any of their cash back as a return.

Makes u wonder about the business acumen of people willing to put 200m into a club that a) has nvr made a profit b) owes 10’s of millions in loans to board members c) share price is 1p d) plays in a lge where the winner gets circa 4m e) plays in a country where this is zero tv money, and f) has a fan base with zero tolerance of losing, in fact just zero tolerance of just about everything…..something stinks as in my humblest of opinions, I can think of 10 better options than that circus.

£165 million. Reminds me of an old tv show in the 70’s Jonny Ball think of a number. There something about the sound of a pound coin rolling across a table.

If it had DOUBLED in value every year since the Whyte purchase, it would be worth an eye watering £8,192 now…..
