Alfredo Morelos has been shown his first post-Ibrox after reacting violently to jibes about his weight in a match between Atletico Nacional and Independiente Medellin.
After six angry years at Ibrox being pandered to by Scottish referees the Colombian ace left as a free agent in May 2023, six months later he joined Santos of Brazil as they headed for relegation for the first time ever.
Morelos was shipped back to Colombia on loan, old habits die hard with The Sun picking up on his latest anger issues:
ALFREDO MORELOS has been criticised by his OWN manager after picking up a NINTH red card of his career.
The Rangers hero’s boss reckons the striker showed a lack of self-control after reacting after being called FAT by an opponent.
The report adds:
The latest dismissal saw Morelos snap towards the end of the game by lashing out at an opposition defender.
The incident came after Morelos had been repeatedly on the receiving end of ‘fat gestures’ from Independiente goalkeeper Washington Aguerre.
In a running battle between the pair, Aguerre was seen making signs towards his stomach area while clashing with Morelos.
The striker then appeared to take his anger out on an opponent late on.
In the aftermath, Nacional manager Javier Gandolfi warned the fiery striker he had to be more restrained.
He said: “Although Alfredo was clearly provoked, he has to show more respect on the pitch and behave himself.
“Both sets of players should have behaved better, actually.”
In six years at Ibrox Morelos scored one goal against Celtic in front of fans, netting a consolation in the 2023 League Cup Final defeat at Hampden.

Is he still playing.
Hunger pangs ! That’s what made big Alfoodo go el loco ! Withdrawal symptoms during a long , protracted match ! Right up the tunnel heading to the food stall , demanding massive Scooby Snacks ..or else ! Yyaaggeeee….hey Scoob !
El Gordo got away with murder in Scotland, given free rein by the likes of Beaton and the other bretheren.
Absolutely Tony. Safe to say he’d already be well into double figures on the red card count, if not for the “leniency” (AKA cheating and corruption) of the lodge whistlers. It would probably be more honest to let them ref the game with flutes, rather than whistles.
So Washington Aguerre is the next Anthony Ralston then…
Just a pity for The Colombian Coke Head that Beaton is Cheatin in an office a gazillion miles in NOT so Bonnie Scotland trying to work out the latest game management to derail Celtic’s treble aspirations !
