Ten days after being sacked Phil Clement has found the strength to pen an emotional farewell to the angry bears that hounded him out of the manager’s job at Ibrox.
After losing to Queens Park last month and to Celtic in September he was confronted by angry fans outside of Ibrox, those are unlikely to be isolated events.
Replacing Micky Beale was a fairly easy task, outsmarting Brendan Rodgers was way beyond Clement’s ability with just one Derby victory in 16 months on his CV as he returns to the jobs market.
The former Monaco boss steered his club to two Hampden finals last year, on both occasions his side were second best with the excuses becoming more and more watchable.
Following the League Cup Final defeat in December it seemed like all of Europe was texting Clement over a travesty of justice.
Strangely none of his players claimed for a penalty at the time, it is unlikely that clubs across Europe will be jamming his phone with job offers.
Clement leaves so many memories behind in Scottish football, topped off by claiming a Moral Victory following a 3-3 draw with Celtic in April 2024.
During last years pre-season training trip to Holland he let slip the extent of the financial problems facing his club, during the same interviews he slapped a £30m price tag on Super Jack Butland.
Thank you Mr Clement. Us with logic could see what you were trying to do under very difficult circumstances.
You brought in good young talent. But Tav and Hagi will jinx every manager they play under.
I thank you for your service.
Now we have Barry Bighead. Nightmare time.— Glasgow News (@com_gangland) March 4, 2025
Dear Rangers,
It has taken me a few days to fully process and accept the end of my time with this exceptional club.
I leave with a heavy heart, frustrated and disappointed that I couldn’t consistently bring the team to the level we all expected. I understand your frustrations, and I share them.
We worked passionately, day and night, and while we faced challenges, I will never forget the many great moments we had together. Your unwavering support and the energy from the fans made those times truly special. In those moments, it felt like we were one big family.
For that reason, Rangers will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you,
Philippe
Barry Ferguson has taken over from Clement as interim boss, the Banter Years roll on in a new direction but the Belgian Beale will never be forgotten after 12 months of Comedy Gold.

“You’re unwavering support”!!! A classic last laugh from the demented Belgian.???
“It has taken me a few days to fully process the amount of money you halfwits paid me”
HH
Haha dando.
Don’t know if he was there long enough to merit a Farewell Card!
But if he did agree to waive half his severence payout just to get out the door, then the extension to his contract was just a bit of showboating, presumably to bolster his standing and rally the Bears.
Alas though, the card up their sleeves was that they were going to pay only half of his severence salary.
Kind of like, turkeys sending out Christmas Party invitations!
