Auston Trusty has dropped out of the USA squad for Thursday’s Nations League match at home to Panama.

The defender was put up for media duty on Friday for the Glasgow Derby but when the team was announced on Sunday there was no place for him in the squad.

In his pre-match interviews Brendan Rodgers put that down to a calf injury, on Tuesday it was announced that Trusty wouldn’t be reporting for international duty.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is in the USA squad which only has the match against Panama while most countries have two fixtures during the international break.

With Liam Scales undergoing surgery on a cheek issue it looks like Maik Nawrocki could retain his place in the Celtic side that faces Hearts on March 29.

The former Legia Warsaw defender came in from the cold to start the Glasgow Derby despite Dane Murray edging ahead in recent weeks for bench duty following his return from being on loan at Queens Park.

CCV as good a footballer as he is, he is never captain material, not once did he speak to the Ref about the treatment dished out to Maeda , if Scott Brown never got a response from him ,he would have dealt with those animals himself

Nawrocki looked decent on Sunday. Have to wonder what the issue is that has seen him on the sidelines all the while. On evidence so far i would prefer him to Scales or Trusty who are both erratic at times.
