Jude Bonnar scored in the 77th minute as Scotland’s u-21 side beat Ireland 2-0 in a friendly in Spain.
The midfielder made his first team debut in last month’s 5-1 victory over Aberdeen and seems to be in a rich vein of form.
Scott Gemmill is one of the longest serving managers in football despite the Scotland u-21 side struggling to make progress in any tournament with Ben Doak the only player in recent times to develop through to Steve Clarke’s squad.
In the 77th minute a shot from Ryan One was blocked with Bonnar tucking away the rebound.
The young Celt was one of five half-time substitutions, moving in to central midfield in his first appearance at this level.
Hopefully there will be some first team playing time for the 19-year-old who has made 20 Lowland League appearances and started all seven UEFA Youth League matches.
A big decision awaits in the summer over whether Bonnar remains at Celtic with limited first team prospects or goes out on loan with the prospect of playing in 30 plus matches to return ready to make a real impact at Celtic in season 25/26.
Bonnar is more than a year older than Lennon Miller who is in his second season in the Motherwell first team and in the full Scotland squad.
Scotland: Johnson, Forrester, Donovan, Mullen, Graham, Anderson, Kelly, Watson, Lawrence, Wales, Mebude
Substitutes: Adams, Bragg, McArthur, Bonnar, Rice, Smith, Cleall-Harding, One, Wilson
Get your man across the water to use his so called influence with his press pass to push for an interview or statement from the Liason Officer to explain the shenanigans from last weekends treatment of the fans and the damage done to the stadium, because the FAT GREEDY BASTARDS on the board want F**K ALL TO DO WITH IT.
Wee Benny’s big brother is looking forward to Mourinho becoming the sevco manager when the FAKEOVER is done, what a great vote of confidence from the big brother of Benny.
That’s another month been and gone since the daily sevco BOOZE JOCKEY NICKEL&DIME twobob so called journalist broke the news about the FAKEOVER,and they are still no further on or forward with the FAKEOVER.
Time is now running out for anything being supposedly finalised before season books get renewed, books will be renewed because of those last 2 wins against us thats all they care about beating us.
So while the focus is on the wins with a nice wee squirrel story about the FAKEOVER going on in the background, season book money would have come in,and at the same time due diligence will be finished if it ever was getting done in the first place and the FAKEOVER deal will COLLAPSE,and it will all be Celtic fault with their war cry being, the fenian hand working it’s magic.
Hey Jude – don’t make it bad…
Take a sad thing and make it better…
Remember, let Ireland into your heart…
Ditch Scotland, and make it better !
Fuck The SFA !!!
